My bf and I purchased a dinning set middle of last July, at that time we only paid 1/3 via our credit card as the deposit. The manager in the store promised it will come in two and three weeks. And they will contact us when the table is arriving.
Interesting enough, early of Aug, when we checked our credit statement and found the rest of 2/3 payment has been charged by this store without any notification. It was supposed that we pay the rest of payment when the furniture is delivered. But by Aug, we paid the full amount without any furniture delivery.
Then we went to store for this issue, the salesman is impatient and rude. They promised (again) that they will contact us when the table is arriving.
But they never contacted us. Every couple weeks I phoned them to know the progress. The answer always was such as "when it arrives, it arrives." "I don't know how long it takes, but it will be arrive soon." etc. So I only can cross my finger to wish the furniture will arrive eventually (since I'd already paid for the full amount)
We waited for 2-3 months and dinning table set is finally delivered to our house on Thanksgiving Day. Anyway, I do love it.
This is my story. I understood that sometimes shipment takes much longer than expected. But I still don't understand they charged the customer the full amount before hand even with any explanation.
