Purchased a 3 piece sofa black and white sofa plus coffee table set from Home Style Furniture Hamilton store on June 10th 2014. The sofa set was delivered on July 16th 2014. Home Style Furniture delivered the WRONG sofa. Drivers came back on the 28th of July 3014 to exchange it for the correct one. I didn't receive the sofa until the end of July.
By beginning of OCT2014 the three seater black and white sofa spilt down the middle at the seem. I've been in contact JAY the owner since the end of OCT 2014. I waited OCT 2014, NOV 2014, DEC 2014, JAN 2015, FEB 2015. FINALLY AMAN from their KITCHENER HOME STYLE FURNITURE location came to my home to look at the sofa beginning of DEC 2014. AMAN said the sofa will " HAVE TO BE REPLACED". The end of JAN 2015 delivery drivers came and picked up the three seater sofa that was spilt by the seem. JAY the manager at the Hamilton location tried to have it "repaired" and failed. JAY notified me that the repair doesn't look "every well", and the sofa will have to be replaced. Finally on March 5th 2015 Home Style Furniture delivery men came and replaced the three seater sofa. I paid another $50 for the sofa on March 5th 2015!!! JAY originally asked me for $300 for the three seater sofa, because you said it wasn't "under warranty" anymore. I declined paying $300. JAY continued to try and haggle a price out of me, so i agreed to pay $50 toward a new three seater sofa. BUT not my problem because I notified JAY of the seem spitting back in October 2014!!!!!! I was only in possession of the sofa for hardly THREE months, from when I first contacted JAY in October 2014. JAY kept saying your warranty is not being covered, I have been calling, and messaging Home Style Furniture HAMILTON since the end of October 2014. I have the emails, phone call conversation recordings, cell phone call records, pictures to prove so. It is not of my concern that it took JAY from OCT 2014 to MAR 5th 2015 to replace the first three seater. Secondly JAY assured me multiple times over the phone this wouldn't happen ever again, and it did! JAY assured me if it does happen again he will "take care of it".
MY SOFA SPLIT DOWN THE MIDDLE SEEM AGAIN FOR THE SECOND TIME THIS AUG 2015!!!!! JAY keeps insisting "the sofa is discontinued" and "he can't help me" EVEN THOUGH I WAS PROMISED HE WOULD IF IT HAPPENED AGAIN. Thank GOD for video recordings!!!! I phoned their sister stores Home Style Furniture in Kitchener, and in Whitby on AUG 25th 2015 BOTH stores confirmed to carry in stock this SPECIFIC - YELLY "black and white 4 piece set" manufactured by Cosmos Furniture. Both stores confirmed they have the Yelly Sofa set in stock at their -I quote- " Home style furniture warehouse in Toronto" they also said they could have it delivered to me within three days of purchase for $1399!!!!!!
I also phoned the manufacture Cosmos Furniture the same day they too confirmed they still produce/sell the YELLY black and white 4 piece sofa set with coffee table. I talked to the customer service rep about my issue with the sofa seem, and he told me I have to speak with Home Style Furniture because the warranty is with Home Style not Cosmos. He also said they do not deal with the public only wholesales, so he couldn't help me and advised me to call Home style furniture Hamilton. Even though JAY told me they "discontinued the sofa set, and thats why JAY had trouble getting me a new one the first time" which is not true.
Regardless, I made a deal with JAY on the phone. I said, "" If you replace my three seater Yelly black and white sofa, I will purchase from you another sofa set at a discounted price." Discounted price BECAUSE of the huge charade and inconvenience you have put me through for almost a year now! I will purchase another sofa off of you, I will no longer sit on the black and white set. AMAN from the Kitchener location even told to me in person on the 27th of August at 3:30pm when I was in his store that those black and white sofas are NOT for every day use, and that they are made in China, thats why it damaged so easily.
JAY REFUSES to replace for the second time as promised my three seater sofa! I'm stuck with a sofa that has a hole in it. Also I'm out $1135.37 !!!!! Its like a rented the sofa for $100 a month!!! This company is a HUGE SHAM all three stores! DO NOT BUY FURNITURE FROM HOME STYLE FURNITURE HAMILTON, KITCHENER, AND OR WHITBY ALL THE SAME OWNERS ALL WORK TOGETHER. IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM THEY WILL NOT HELP YOU. SAVE YOUR MONEY GO ELSE WHERE
