Found them on homestars. Scheduled a service call and they actually showed up earlier than planned (bonus points there). The technician noticed the service valves were toast so the options are to replace the vales or replace the unit...we'll probably replace the unit. The only down side was they still charged the full service fee for a 2 minute job. They said if we buy through them we get refunded but I feel if they gave a discount upfront, it would make doing business with them again easier. Probably will bring them in for an estimate but seeing how they are using the refund as bait, I'm not sure if that leaves a good impression.

We tell all our customers the costs associated with any service calls and labour rates before we come out to your home. I'm sorry you feel that you're being held hostage but any service charges are discussed at the time an appointment is booked. We do not have any hidden costs associated with any repairs. We as a company will refund the service call charge to all our customers if they decide to purchase a new unit and we will not charge another service call if you decide to go ahead with any repairs. We do this out of courtesy as we know that purchasing a new unit is costly and it's our way of giving our customers a break on a new purchase. If you don't think that's a fair offer please give me a call and we can discuss the issue one on one.
