This company had a lot of positive reviews, so we gave them a call. The sales guy was very nice, the quote looked OK, and we signed up and put $500 down on June 13, with the understanding that they were about a month away. The second week of July, I began a series of phone calls to D'Angelo roofing, to get an
idea of when they would be ready to go; I wanted to give a head's up to the neighbours. It was hard to get an answer, the person who answered the phone didn't seem to be passing on my messages. Finally I do speak to Richard, the scheduler, who says Wed July 23. No one shows by 9 a.m. that day, so I call, and he tells me he gave me a 2 day window...they will be there Thurs. July 24 at 8 a.m. Guaranteed. Thurs. at 9 I'm calling again, but cannot get a call back. Just after Noon, the three new skylights show up, so I'm thinking something's happening. Nothing else shows up Thurs. though, and no word from D'Angelo's at all. Friday morning comes along, and by 9, I'm calling their office again. Richard tells me that Shayne, the salesman, needs to visit again and re-price the job!! He tells me that they are also looking into other jobs that have been quoted by Shayne. I'm a bit shocked...I really don't know what to say...we put money down on a signed contract 5 weeks ago, and now we have to start from scratch again?? Richard was not very forthcoming or apologetic...it was apparent that they just wanted out of the job. So, I said I really wasn't pleased with their way of doing business. Send the $500 back, and please come and pick up the skylights (which they did pick up right away). I got the cheque from D'Angelo today, so the deal has been concluded.
I have to say that I'm really confused about what happened here. This was a $12000 job, and why they suddenly didn't want the business is beyond me.
Beware if you choose these guys!! They are unreliable and untrustworthy.
