Driveway (ashphalt), walkway, porch (flagstone)

First of all, they seem to use the name 'Quality Remodeling and Renovations' so that you can't find anything about them. If this isn't the same company, then they share the same address and phone number. Adam came to quote us everything seemed great. The problems began when after 2 months has passed, we were called at 10:30 at night to say that the job would start the next morning, yet we hadn't been given any stone samples yet (like we were promised). So the samples came the next morning and were picked, but we soon realized that the plan Adam had drawn in our discussions was never given to the workers, so they had no idea what they were supposed to be doing. We ended up getting it worked out, and it went downhill from there. Within a month, there were tire tracks on our new driveway (and as you may recall, it wasn't exactly a hot summer) and things that were promised were not delivered. They said they would come back but its been 4 months, and not even a phone call. At one point during the job, they left for the weekend leaving a row of stones out that had to be cut. The row was right at the bottom of the porch step and my 3 year old ending up tripping head first into the stones. I called the company right away and it was still 5 days before they came to complete the work! In retrospect, I should have sued for negligence. Oh well, its not too late.

kitchen renovation

The head contractor felt our kitchen reno of $14Gs was not worth his time because it wasn't a high-priced job. He mentioned this several times and for that reason, didn't take as much care in our kitchen reno as he should have. When we discovered minor issues after the job was done, he made it sound that the faults were ours.

If we had any complaints and pursued them, they were willing return...at a charge! The company's owner was very nice until he got his final cheque and from that point onward, it was like pulling teeth to get him to return a phone call.

We used this company a second time because of the extremely satisfactory job they had done before. However, after this experience, we will never use or recommend them again.

Treat all jobs equally, no matter what the price. Accept responsibility when they use poor quality product or make mistakes.
