Home Inspection of 120 Year Old Home

My wife and I were searching the internet for a home inspection company and came accross the Homestars website. We called the top home inspection companies on here. Brent was great to speak with, very informative, easy going, and can make you laugh before you've even met him! When we saw Brent up on the roof yelling down to us with some of the problems that he was seeing, we knew we hired the right guy for the job. He springs into action the moment he gets there. It's amazing how much the "sellers" inspection report and Brents report can vary. The sellers inspection report said "roof in good condition", Brent came down the ladder and proved to us that this was not the case by showing us pictures and that it would require replacement. The sellers were all bent out of shape, but with Brents pictures, it proved the other home inspector wrong. What really made it interesting is in the other inspectors report, it states that he never went on the roof! Thank you Brent! You are worth every penny!

Approximate cost of services:
$350.00

Company Response

Thank you Antonio for the kind words and for taking the time to leave me feedback! I really appreciate it! People call me up with many questions and I am more than happy to answer them. (Yes, sometimes people have some very ODD questions that have nothing to do with an inspection). You've really got to watch out for those "sellers" home inspection reports. I did an inspection the other day where the home had some awful grading and I had a feeling that there would be leaks. Sure enough I get into the basement, feel the wall, and it's soaking wet. The person who hires me goes and looks at the "sellers" report, it makes no mention of a leaky basement. Yet, some inspection reports I see are very good and don't miss a thing! I have no idea why the sellers inspector in this case, would comment on the roof when he never even went onto it. So, it is always difficult whether to go, or not to go with the sellers listing report. Most people in these situations seem happy that they hired me. I'm glad you did too. Thanks again Antonio, thank you for choosing Classic Home Inspections!
