Chouinard Bros Roofing

Chouinard Brothers installed the roof on our new home. A year after moving in we had a leak in our roof. We reported it right away, but after 30 days of waiting and continuous leaking, another company fixed the issue.

After closer inspection we realized our roofing system appeared to have numerous issues. Chouinard Brothers were asked to inspect the roof and issue a report. Instead of inspecting the roof, they started fixing the issues so they didn't have to report them. We eventually received a one paragraph report without any supporting photos stating that there were no major issues.

Not satisfied with the results of their inspection, we consulted with a few roofing companies and acquired our own roofing report, which found numerous issues including Ontario Building Code (OBC) violations. Our concerns were brought to the attention of Chouinard Brothers and they denied the findings. It didn't matter that we were missing underlayment, nails were exposed and rusting (both of which are OBC violations), or that we had nail pops throughout our roof. These are just a few of the issues we have/had.

Chouinard Brothers had numerous chances to rectify the problems, but chose not to. They could have done the job right the first time - but they didn't. They could have issued a report that was complete and honest - but they didn't. They could have acknowledged the OBC violations on our roof - but they didn't.

In our dealings with Chouinard Brothers, they did not act with honesty or integrity. Their workmanship (as documented) is very poor, and our experience with them has been terrible. I would not recommend Chouinard Brothers to anyone!
