Warning – this is not a custom cabinet company. They make modular cabinets in widths that are multiples of 3 inches. (eg. 12,18,24, etc.). Their main business is high-volume kitchens for high-volume home and condo builders. If you are looking for quality kitchen cabinets that can be designed for built-in appliances, do NOT use this company. My kitchen included a built-in Bosch cooktop, wall oven, and a Miele speed oven. Despite having provided them with the installation specs, they couldn’t design a cabinet to accommodate them. I had to hire other cabinet makers to finish the work.
The quality of the product from the factory is below average. There were a number of flaws that required replacement parts from the factory in Brampton. If you live outside the GTA, be prepared to wait a long time before you get service. The only reason I received decent service was because I live within an hour drive of the factory plus I didn’t pay the balance until everything was completed to my satisfaction. Their standard contract wants the balance paid off upon delivery of the cabinets before the installation is finished. Do NOT accept this term. Insist upon final payment after everything is finished otherwise you will have great difficulty getting service.
Finally, Cartier subcontracts the installation. The subcontractor works by himself so he had no help installing the cabinets. He knocked a cap off a water line causing a major flood which wouldn't have happened if he had another person helping him. One of our upper cabinets is already sagging just six months after installation. I wish I had done my homework before purchasing from Cartier. Hopefully if you are reading this review, it will help you with your decision.
