Bloor Dovercourt Appliances

Bloor Dovecourt was paid to install a cook-top stove. They sub-contracted an electrician to complete the wiring. After installation, I was told it was completed. When using the cook-top the entire unit shorted and we had to call the building superintendent to switch on power to the unit. I then called another electrician who told me what the issue was. I spoke to Bloor and they asked me to speak to the electrician they hired for reimbursement. The electrician was sending me text messages on how it was not his fault. This company takes no accountability for their work. I am very disappointed and will never hire this company for anything again.

On a friend's recommendation, we decided to visit Bloor Dovercourt Appliances in April to look at washing machines. [Our old machine finally gave out after 16 years!] From our first phone conversation with owner Joe Perketa, we couldn't ask for better service. Avo, the sales manager, and his colleague, André, provided helpful information in-store and happily took a number of phone queries before purchase. When we couldn't turn off the taps for the old machine in advance of installation, Avo sent his service guy, Conrad, to help us — in 15 minutes, and free of charge! [Conrad also dropped by quickly to correct a small post-install vibration. Again, free of charge.] Scott and Dave handled the tricky delivery to our old basement and installed the new washer with expertise [and good humour!]. They were a pleasure to have in the house.

Throughout the whole experience, we felt like we were valued customers. And we appreciate that! It was also great to deal with a local store and to receive such quick and considerate service.

We look forward to using Bloor Dovercourt Appliances again and will definitely recommend the store to family and friends.

We've purchased from Bloor/Dovercourt appliances before and were very happy, so this time, for the very tricky purchase of a condo washer/dryer (we just moved from a house to our first condo), we knew we had to go with a company that had stellar customer service. They went above and beyond, helping us with our rather tricky situation of finding something that met the building's rather picky requirements and something that could fit in our small laundry cupboard. It took us three tries, but we finally settled on great solution for our space and the staff were uniformly patient, knowledgeable about all aspects of every kind of appliance and unbelievably helpful (at the start of this whole process, Avo spent nearly one hour with me on the phone, giving me options, discussing dimensions etc. and Joe was also incredible when it came to advice). Their prices are comparable to big box stores and what you get in customer service is priceless as far as I'm concerned. They are the only company we will ever deal with for a purchase of any major appliance.

I had old washer and dryer built into a closet in a narrow basement walkway. I knew my washer and dryer could come out, cause I figure I could break it apart. But my stairwell down, where my washer and dryer had to go, was very narrow and it was exactly the width of the appliance. I was told the height and thought it would fit in. I was sooooo concern about getting the appliance down, that they helped my at the store. They gave me a cardboard the size of the washer and told me to take it downstairs. It fit! I was super excited, however on delivery day they were unable to stack it. So, they had to figure it out . . . they helped me place it the best way in my basement. They spent over an hour at my house and made it work! Many thanks! I knew I would have a new washer and dryer.

Was looking for a Danby 17.7 cu ft all refrig as a secondary storage frig. Could only find it at 3 large low end retailers with poor company reviews, one of which companies I had already used & knew the bad review to be true. This is not a review of the frig. I don't know how that's going to turn out, but it has nothing to do with Dovercourt..I checked Homestars retailers & found Dovercourt, which I had never heard of - thank you Homestars! - with excellent reviews.Their website is amazing! They have just about everything & I was able to make product comparisons online, which was more than helpful. I called the store to order by phone with credit card. Dealt with both Joe & Avo. They got me the product at the time that they said they would, at the same price as advertised by the low end stores, & delivery was as specified. I paid full price by CC over the phone ahead of time so, not knowing the company, I was a little apprehensive that I had done so. No problems. Great company. 100% recommendation.

We were having difficulty finding a refrigerator that was condo size for a very small space. Avo went out of his way to make several calls (while I waited on the phone) to find a model that would suit our needs. We were without a fridge, so delivery was made very quickly! Avo also spent 45 minutes on the phone with me to explain all features, with comparisons to other products. Excellent service with helpful, friendly staff!

The cost was very competitive. The staff were really helpful with sorting through our needs. Nice to buy in the neighbourhood. The fridge came with a small dent from the factory-they got a discount for us, which was great.

Located in a narrow storefront on Bloor Street it's easy to miss. I first stumbled upon the place several years ago when I was looking for a narrow (24") fridge that was counter-depth and had a reasonable capacity... and was EnergyStar qualified. I'd already visited every big box appliance store in the city, and invariably when I told sales staff what I was looking for their eyes would glaze over and their shoulders would shrug, so when I went into this seemingly tiny store on Bloor Street my expectations were not high. However when I told Joe what I was looking for it only took him a few seconds to ponder the possibilities and suggest a GE model which I'd not seen in any store. He didn't have one in the stock but it only took about three days to have one delivered (and the delivery was free). As a landlord I buy lots of appliances, and both Joe and Doris offer superb product knowledge and have earned my continued business.

I recently purchased a condo in downtown Toronto and the kitchen space is small and required some thoughtful planning. Trying to find condo sized appliances to take a look at was next to impossible, until I found Bloor Dovercourt Appliances. I discovered their website and could not believe how extensive their product lines were. Upon visiting the shop I was blown away by the in store selection of condo size appliances. From the minute I walked in the staff were very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Not only did they guide me through all the options available they also made recommendations of other small businesses that could help with my reno's. Doris was an absolute delight to deal with. I have already recommended this shop to friends how are looking to renovate their houses and condos in the coming months. A total gem. I will not hesitate to recommend and use them in the future.

I was looking for a discontinued LG refrigerator that was the only fridge compact enough to fit in my condo and I reached out to as many retailers in Ontario including LG themselves and could not locate the fridge. Not only did Bloor Dovercourt have the last fridge, Joe held it for me when another interested customer came into the store prepared to buy it! Amazing customer service and the delivery team was great too!
