I had my ducts cleaned a couple years ago by this company because their price was good. Never again. Two guys came to my house, one fellow smelled like he hadn't showered in 3 days. I have a tendancy to watch people when ever they do work on my house out of fear that they may sabotage something in order to milk out more money. They took apart my furnace cover and one guy stuck his fingers inside and tried to convince me that I needed the furnace cleaned too. His fingers were clean and he said "look carbon...". I refused, if there was carbon it would have been sooty black. They pulled off the plugs that were left on my duct pipes from a prior cleaning by a different company and when they left they did not replace them. When they left they did not turn my furnace/air conditioning switch back on. In the end I had to tape up the holes left behind because they stole my plugs, I had to spray lysol air freshener all over the house to get rid of the body odour, and I had to pinpoint why my furnace/air conditioning system wasn't working. Save your self the hassle and pay the extra $50 for professional service.

I used Blackwell Duct Cleaning based on a recommendation from a friend who recently used Blackwell's Duct Cleaning service. They were pleased with both the price and service so we decided to use Blackwell's service as well.
Now being after the fact, I wish I had done a little more research on this company and seen this message board before decided to hire them. Sure, the price couldn't be beat, but like the old saying goes, you get what you pay for...

3 guys came to my house to clean the ducts in my house. Why there was 3 of them, I really don't know why because 2 guys seemed like it would have been more than enough to do this job (although the price didn't change having 3 men there).
Mid-way thru the cleaning, I went down to the basement to see how the job was going only to find one of the guys relaxing and slouched on my couch in the rec room looking as if he was half asleep. While another guys was playing with my son's toys!!!
Shortly after that, the same guy playing with my sons toys was out in the backyard playing with my dog!!!
Just when I thought it was all done, 2 of my moonglow lights in my garden were knocked over by the vacuum hose when they were packing up and leaving. Totally oblivious.
I was totally appalled and couldn't believe what I was seeing. It was almost comical in a way.

I've never seen anything like this in my life! Have some respect when someone hires you to come into their house to perform a service. Get in, do the job, respect the customer's property, get out!! Plain and simple!!

I guess the cleaning part was done ok, but after all the other shenanagans, the bad out-weighed the good unfortunately.

I was satisfied with the price and the service. Despite all te bad reviews I had them in anyways to see for myself. I ended up getting the furnace cleaning and it was still cheaper than all the other companies I had called. The guys on the job were great they showed us step by step what they were doing. I saw for myself the amount of dirt and dust that came out of our ducts. Good job

I have reported this company to the Better Business Bureau as I feel that I was taken advantage of. I had to clean up their mess after they left. They broke a lamp. Dust blew out the vents when the furnace was on. They said the furnace needed cleaning, which I unfortunately agreed to (more $$ and more mess). It only took them 10 minutes to clean the furnace. Then we have to have a regular furnace man come to put a new part on the furnace ($300) and he said that the furnace was NOT clean. They spilled anti-freeze on our paved driveway. I am completely unsatisfied with this company, and they have may no attempts to make the situation better. I am disgusted.

The ducts were not properly cleaned. My basement vents were not touched. When I called back the man suggested I change my filters and if I am still not satisfied to call back in a week. A week later the telephone number does not work! DO NOT USE BLACKWELL DUCT CLEANERS June 2006

Purchased the duct cleaning and furnace cleaning in Oct 2006 just to find out when my furnace stopped working in the middle of winter that it was dirty and needed to be cleaned....you should do that regularly you know...says the company that rescued me. Call after call resulting in no resolution just a lot of talk and excuses...with father and pathetic son. STAY AWAY.
