Biss Environmental Systems - No Longer in Business

A few years ago we decided to replace our old, too small water heater and wanted to learn about on demand hot water solutions. Sean advised us on various options and how certain boilers could be used to heat the house in the winter as well. He produced a clear budget, executed a clean and efficient install and has been extremely prompt replying to any service calls (24/7 basically). We decided to upgrade our outside AC unit which Sean installed as well. It has been problematic and so Sean has arranged for a replacement under warranty which he plans to install in the spring. Overall a first class job!

This company is still in business. Perhaps the name has changed but the name includes the word BISS.

Our experience with Sean, Emerson and Carlos has always been excellent.

The statement suggesting that the firm is no longer in business is wrong.

Incompetetent. Called in to fix a furnace. Right away, it was clear they couldn’t properly diagnose the problem. Charged me $407 to replace an ignitor and told me to wait 2 hours before trying to turn on the furnace (in order to allow some sealant to dry). 2 hours later…the furnace was still broken. They said they would come back the next day; this time to replace the valve and gave me an estimate of $650 for replacement. Meanwhile, they were strongly suggesting I cut my losses and replace the whole furnace. Their endgame became clear to me. At which point, I stopped dealing with them.
I called in another repair man. He cleaned the gas pilot after properly diagnosing the issue. He charged me next to nothing. The furnace has been working ever since.
Stay away from BISS.

Sean and Carlos did a wonderful installation, and continue to be on the ball in follow ups for maintenance. I have already recommended them to family and friends! Always on time, and with a smile!

This is the fourth fall that I have hired Biss to prepare my boiler for the winter season. I was always happy with them (the reason why I continue to hire them), but Carlos, their new technician provided a first rate service in every aspect. We found out our hot water heater had gone belly up when I stepped into a pool of water in our basement late Wednesday afternoon. I called Biss (who had installed our boiler in 2008) about 630 that night. They answered the late call and promised to have someone out the next day (because I had managed to drain the tank and averted an emergency situation). In fact Sean, the owner, came before 10 o'clock Thursday morning, looked over the situation, made his recommendation (which I accepted) and set off to get the required materials. By 5 o'clock that night we had hot water again. Pretty damned good service if you ask me. Biss was courteous, helpful, punctual and did great work correcting a situation which, for me, was looking like it would be a big problem.
