EDIT: Avenue Road Roofing contacted me to resolve this issue and I am happy they did. They took accountability for their work and have rectified the situation. Thanks to Avenue Road for their honesty during this process. Unlike other companies, they do seem to value their customers. I have seen other complete and new roofing systems that have been installed in the neighborhood and I would recommend them for this service.
Back in January, Avenue Road Roofing came to my home to repair raccoon animal damage. The initial correspondence was excellent: the repairman showed up on time and swiftly repaired the damage...at least that's what I thought he did. In the next couple of days, the damage reappeared because of a pesky raccoon. The repairman once again came to inspect the roof and indicated that it is pointless to repair the roof until the raccoon is gone. Toronto is terrible for raccoons - do they ever actually leave? He said he would water seal the areas in question and follow-up in a week or 2 to see if more damage reappeared. After a few weeks of silence, I contacted another company to repair the damage, who indicated that the previous "repair" was essentially just jamming old shingles underneath existing ones like Jenga pieces. This was confirmed with pictures. This new company indicated that if a repair is done correctly, the raccoon shouldn't be able to cause anymore damage this year. I'm happy to say that I haven't had any damage since I hired a different company, and I've even spotted the raccoon on my roof since! I'm sure Avenue Road Roofing does great work installing new systems; however, I would not recommend for animal damage...3 months later and I'm technically still waiting for a follow-up.
