I hired Ascot to fix a water problem for me, which was completed in under a day and from there I kept and keep adding more renovations, I had a patio door install done and I am now in the process of getting landscaping done. The management team and sub-trades are an amazing group of professionals. I leave for work in the morning and when I came home at night I know I am going to find a clean work place. Their workmanship is fantastic, their job site is always spotless when they leave. I have recommended Ascot to others and will continue to. I know of one person who has already hired them to do bathroom renovations and painting. People in my neighbourhood have stopped by to speak to the General Manager Larry Vallentyne who is looking after my project. Ascot will be the only company I will be dealing with. They have every sub-trade you need to get the job done right. I look forward to my continuing relationship with Ascot and their team of professionals.

Larry and his team from Ascot did an excellent job for us. They did a great job parging a wall and reconcreting an area in and around our garage. They drywalled and left the garage in "move in" condition. They also repaired a large wood frame so that it is both attractive and waterproofed. The team also finished a basement floor and repaired/insulated/drywalled/primed some of the walls for us. It looks fabulous. This team is reliable, trustworthy and goes the extra mile. I highly recommend them.

I had a good experience about 9 years ago and a bad experience several weeks ago. When John first came to my house he managed a very polite and clean crew who dug up the earth around a portion of my foundation, did waterproofing, and also replaced mouldy drywall.

Recently, I noted water seepage from the foundation near the edge of the area that was waterproofed. I called John a few times before he called me back. Since then I found that I had to call several times and wait a few days between each call.

Finally, he came over, had a look around and said "The leak is not our fault, it appears to be coming from beyond where we worked. I feel sorry for you, I won't charge you a lot".

We agreed on a small project over three days involving work from the inside of the basement. John said $1300. I agreed. We shook hands and he left.

I called twice. A few days later his office assistant called to arrange to send me a proposal. The proposal was for $2300, not $1300. I wrote an email to John. I had given up on calling by that point. John wrote back to say: "After I gave you a price (that I would lose money on) we went outside and you said this is where the wall is leaking – where the waterproofing ended. The wall did not leak through Ascots job."

But that is not what happened. We agreed and shook hands on $1300 after he looked at everything. I never doubted that it was not Ascot's fault.

I really liked John and his company 9 years ago, but I think something has changed. I tried to discuss the matter with him, but he didn't reply in any way. That was 2 weeks ago.

There were bubbles on the paint of my wall. Ascot said they will re-plaster and paint the wall. All they did was scrape off the paint, plaster a little and paint. The amount of plaster was 30 sq.ft and the paint was 500 sq.ft. It should of cost $1500. A month later the bubbles reappeared. That was a waste of time and money.

The Ascot staff did a great job with our kitchen renovation. They were hard working, timely and detail oriented. We felt like we were in good hands with them in our home and the final product is stunning.

John from Ascot is a knowledgeable and upstanding contractor who tells you like it is and does what he says he is going to do. The team at Ascot is professional, friendly, helpful and hard working. I have used Ascot for over a decade on a variety of projects and I would not hesitate to hire them for any project large or small. It's attention to customers and to detail that says it all.

I found john to be professional and fair. his men dug down to where he thought the problem was and they were timely, efficient and cleaned up after themselves. unfortunately the problem was not solved. john did come back as soon as I called him and took down the drywall to help figure out where the wetness was coming from, but he did not followup and now its three years later, and i still have an unfinished wall that effervesces like crazy.

John at Ascot put up with my endless little requests and had his workers do a big waterproofing dig along with a number of other items. We liked them enough to have them back for a backyard deck and fence. They completed the work in a timely fashion, kept a clean site and we have had no problems post-construction. I would recommend them.

Hired Ascot a few years ago, they did excellent work, excellent employees, they even cleaned up after themselves -- can you believe that?!!. I couldn't be more pleased with the work done.
