Moncada Windows Doors & Siding

Very impressed with the job and work done,from the sale to the completion of the installation. The sales man and the installers were very freindly and answered all the questions my wife and I asked. Im find it hard to believe some of the statements in other reveiws,that was definately not the experience my wife and I had. The job was completed on time and when Anthony promised. I had windows done by another company in our previous home in 2002 and I can definately say this company is top notch. I would recomend them to friends and family, as well as use them again if need be.

Don't buy from this company. You can do a lot better. Sales staff was great. Service is terrible. Installation was as bad as it can get. Not only do they do the bare minimum, they don't follow up on issues that arise as a result.

We met with Anthony after having met with 5 other Window companies. Moncada was not the cheapest but we were most inpressed with the time Anthony took to answer questions and provide helpful hints and suggestions. He was very accessible on follow calls before the installation. His crew showed up on time and were very informative with the numerous questions we had. They were willing to make adjustments during installation.
Anthony visited the site each day and answered any questions I had.
Since the installation I have noticed my house is quitier (Triple Glazing I assume) and the AC has been running less.
I also had occasion to have someone from another window company visit my property (for a personal matter) and he commented on the job that had been done. He thoght they had done a great job and asked me who had done them.

I work in the architectural design profession so I have a better knowledge of construction & building products than most home owners…not saying that I’m an expert on residential windows but since I have a better understanding of what to look out for, my decision to go with Moncada windows is not purely base on cost alone.

We moved to our raised bungalow in Dec. 2009. After a winter with the 40 year old original windows/doors we decided to replace all the windows the following fall. We eventually replaced 10 windows on the ground floor (including two large front windows 6’x10’ each) + 5 basement windows + a sliding door accessing the backyard with built-in blinds.

We got estimates from 3 different companies, Anthony (owner) from Moncada came and give us the estimate, he was very knowledgeable of his product and when we got into a more technical discussion regarding his product vs other products out on the market he was able to satisfy all my questions/concerns and left me in a very comfortable state of mind. Moncada’s quote was actually the highest (within $3000) but after further analysis we decided to go with Moncada because of the higher quality of their product (hardware, Trim finishes, exterior covering, type of caulking used & type of insulation used). Anthony took measurements for quotation purposes and one of their staff came back a few days later to take actual measurements for the window production. Installation happened about 3 weeks after and took 1.5 day and went smoothly, the crew were professional, courteous and clean up all the debris.

I think it’s important for the home owners to realize that no wall, ceiling or floor in a house is ever PERFECTLY level, flat or straight!!! The door and window openings that was originally built to being square will often overtime sag or become lopsided due to uneven house settling and any installer (no matter which company) will try their best to fit their perfectly square window into a not so square opening……so leveling and fitting the new windows/doors into existing rough openings can be tricky and often time not fit as “perfectly” as you would like/expect……. overall, the Moncada crew did an excellent job on my windows installation!!!

I’ve purposely waited almost a year after the installation to write this review and is pleased to report that the windows/sliding door are all still looking good and working well and have zero issues with them. My conclusion is that you will be able to find cheaper windows if you don’t mind lesser quality products, Moncada windows are high quality window products at a very competitive price which makes them the best bang for your buck in my opinion.

Lastly, the reason this review didn’t get 10/10 is because I am not able to attest to the longevity & durability of these windows over its lifespan so the highest I can currently give at this time is 9/10.

I had three windows that were showing their age. One would no longer open and the mechanism could not be repaired. The others were rattly and old. My neighbour had seen Moncada Windows at the Home Show and was impressed. He ordered his windows from them, so I did the same. There was a delay in getting the windows installed, but when they finally arrived, the workers were fast and neat. I am happy with the results. My windows look nice and perform well. The room is cooler in summer and warmer in winter.

UPDATE AUG 2012: I had previously been happy with the three windows and installation from this company a few years ago, so I recently ordered three more. This time did not go so well. While the installers seemed efficient and personable, after they left, I discovered large gouges that had been badly filled with rough caulking in the interior window frames. It looks terrible! On one side of my living room window interior frame, there is a 2.5-inch gouge in the wood that has been inadequately filled with caulk. The nails had not been countersunk and the wood edge is crooked.
UPDATE (Sep 2012): After seeing my post here on HomeStars, I was contacted by Anthony, who came to survey the window. He then sent someone to fix the sloppy work, but overall, I am still not satisfied. Both Anthony and the man who came to fix the problem blamed it on the type of window I bought. This is not acceptable. At no point prior to installation was I told that my “new” window would end up looking like a bad repair and that I should be paying for something else.
