The Constructing Spaces team (CS) recently completed (December 2018) a major renovation to the main floor and kitchen of our house and, based on our experience, we cannot recommend them highly enough. From the very outset, the CS team had a clear and transparent approach to planning, scoping and budgeting and they readily answered and discussed all our (many!) questions to ensure we understood everything to our satisfaction. They also made it very clear they were committed to delivering the project on-time and on-budget (which we placed a premium on, as the cost was significant to us and our family had to move out for the duration of the renovation) and ensuring we were happy with the end result. From the planning, through to physical renovation and completion, CS were in constant communication with us (via phone, email/project website or in-person) to both update us on progress and discuss any decision points or questions we had. We can’t understate how important to us this timely communication element was as it provided a high degree of comfort to us by ensuring we were always well-informed and clearly showed that CS truly valued their commitments to us a client. Not unexpectedly, we encountered several unforeseen issues during the project (such as sub-standard installation of some appliances by a sub-contractor) however once we advised CS they responded immediately and these issues were addressed within 24 hours or less. Upon completion of the renovation, the final cost came in under the budget, we moved back into our home on schedule and are now enjoying our beautiful new open-concept main floor and kitchen. Having worked for years in the Oil & Gas capital projects business, we know how difficult it is to finish a project of quality, on budget and on schedule, so kudos to CS for strongly delivering on all three of these aspects!

Having seen the high quality work that Ridgecrest had already done on a number of other properties in our area, we decided to engage them for a quote to do a major renovation/upgrade to the exterior of our house (new Hardie board siding, new windows & doors, new front & back decks). Ridgecrest's quote was competitive, and David the owner came by multiple times to discuss the project, answer questions, provide samples and generally ensure that we were happy before the work commenced. Once the work began, progress was fairly quick for the most part and I very much enjoyed coming home from work each day what new work had been done and admire the rejuvenation of our family home. Communication with David and Derek throughout the work was generally very good & responses (via email or phone) to our questions were timely on the whole; this open and honest communication went a long way to maintaining and building trust with Ridgecrest which meant a lot to us as this was a not insignificant financial outlay for us. The work crew led by Craig were friendly, tidy, happy to discuss the project and very clearly took pride in the work they were delivering as evidenced by the high quality of workmanship and attention to detail. The only real delay on the project was caused by the deck railing we had chosen being unavailable this late in the season (October). However, the silver lining was that David successfully managed to source an alternate product that turned out to be better than what we had wanted originally! Overall, we're very happy we went with Ridgecrest & would definitely (& have) recommend them to others looking to do a similar project. Our only regret is that being winter right now, we still have to a wait a few months to properly enjoy and admire our new decks!
