After 4 frustrating days of not being able to drain water from the sinks, bathtubs nor flush toilets, and dealing with many people from my home insurance company and plumbers, I was so relieved to have found the Rooter Group Inc, Etobicoke on HomeStars. Lester Parris, owner of this franchise answered the phone, and he and his partner, Mirko came within 2 hours of my phone call. They were able to give me a thorough diagnose of the problem, and a very reasonable quote for the job. They brought in two crew members, Tadek and Slavik to begin work immediately. The problem was a massive tree root blocking the main drain. By evening on the same day, we were able to use the sinks, bathtubs and toilets. Using a sophisticated camera, Lester and Mirko showed me the entire old ceramic drain pipe was clogged with tree roots, and needing replacement with CVP pipes. They understood that I had a tight budget, so they did not push me to do the next phase of the work. However, I valued and trusted their expertise and advice, and decided to continue the next phase of the work, which included the installation of a backwater valve, clean outs, and the replacement of a galvanized steel water pipe with copper (the City did not replaced, unbeknownst to me). They informed me about the City's Basement Flooding Prevention Subsidy Program, whereby I can apply for a subsidy once a backwater valve and clean outs are installed, and passed the City's inspection. This was very helpful information. They were professional, were on site every day and took pride in their work. They took care to organize the removal of the old pipes and ensured we had functioning faucets and toilets. The crew cleaned up everyday. At every phase of the work, Lester and/or Mirko would explain what was completed, and what the plans were for the following day. They ensured I was happy with the work and clean up before leaving each day. I am very grateful for Lester, Mirko and the crew, Tadek and Slavik for their professionalism and quality work. I would highly recommend the Rooter Group Inc., Etobicoke branch for any plumbing/waterproofing.

I had 3 major appliances needing repair in late January: washer, dryer and fridge. In reviewing HomeStars' appliance repair companies, I decided to select Arni because of their excellent customer service reviews. I'm glad I selected Arni and grateful to their technician, Evgeny. He was professional and patient in answering my questions about the repairs, costs, etc. The dryer and fridge was repairable but the washer was not or would cost me the price of purchasing a new washer. I found Evgeny's expertise and advice reliable, and comforting. I would not hesitate to call Arni and Evgeny for any future appliance repairs, and would be happy to recommend them to others.

We had an extremely old and precarious 2-level deck which needed to be demolished, and replaced with new decks. We've had many contractors providing us with high cost estimates, and others unwilling to take on the project because of the challenges. We hired SG Contracting because of the following reasons: - their great reviews on Home Stars - their reasonable estimates were inline with our budget - timeliness of project completion, and - Soroush's honesty and professionalism during the on-site inspection SG Contracting is a great company with a professional team of skilled and dedicated workers. Soroush and his team, Moe and Sooran were well informed, accommodating, and a pleasure to work with. He kept us informed at every phase of the project, answered all our questions with patience, and helped us make cost-effective changes and decisions. Soroush is a very kind and generous person. He offered to fix some lighting issues in my bathroom and kitchen with minimal to no additional costs. Though he couldn't resolve the lighting issues at the end of the project, he offered to come back on his day off! We are very happy with our 2-level new decks and fence repair.
