Had a sewer backup emergency. Called and had John The Plumber come. I opened the access panel to cleanout all ready for the service guy. He scoped it and indicated their were roots. He said the initial charge was $179 plus tax and would be waived if more work need to be done. He said that he had to snake the line to clear it and said it would be $899!!. I said that seemed very high. He said he could offer a 10% discount. But with 13% tax it was over that amount. He said I could go elsewhere to have it done but to get another plumber in they would have to scope (camera) again which means I would have to pay to have it done again and pay double. SO THEY HAD ME because I had no alternative as drain was overflowing in basement! He worked a total of just over 1 hr. That works.out to $700/hr!!! After they went ahead I had the chance to call a few others in Kingston and Toronto. I got quoted $460, $549, and even from Toronto plumber was quoted $379 to scope and snake. Called John The Plumber to question the exorbitant overcharge and they said they have alot of overhead so they charge more than others. THIS COMPANY PRICE GOUGE AND TAKE ADVANTAGE OF CONSUMERS WHO ARE VULNERABLE. THEY BAIT YOU IN AND YOU HAVE NO ALTERNATIVE....BEWARE!

I recently purchased a radiant floor heating system (was sold two 225sqft of heating cable, a wifi thermostat, and a relay module as I am controlling 450 sqft with one thermostat. I was told by the sales rep at Heavenly Heat Concord, On that I required 1 15AMP breaker to control the entire system. I paid an electrician $450 to run a line and install the breaker. After floor was installed I contacted Heavenly Heat to get clarification on hooking up the relay module. I was put over to their tech guy who informed me that one 15AMP breaker would not suffice as it fell well short of handling the load. I told him that the sales rep. did the calculation when I purchased the unit, as I specifically asked if I required a dedicated breaker and size, and was informed by Heavenly Heat that I only required one 15amp breaker. Now I have to pay an electrician $550 to come and run a second line and install a second breaker. I called Heaven Heat and all they could admit was they made an error. That error is going to cost me $550! I hope Heavenly Heat will compensate me for their error. If not I do not recommend anyone using or purchasing an electric radiant floor heating system from Heavenly Heat.
