Eric and his team (our installer Alex) are fantastic to work with. Quick, to the point, professional, thorough, always very on time, and helpful. We had our arch window glass entirely replaced due to it severely fogging. Eric provided speedy responses, scheduled next day to measure the glass, thoroughly came back to measure it again just to be sure (because our glass is lopsided), glass was manufactured and delivered within specified timeframe (2 weeks), install was quick, professional and clean. Everything was clear with no delays. Eric and Alex are also very friendly and went above and beyond - our freezer drawer sliders broke that morning and they even stayed to help us fix that! Would definitely recommend them and call them again if needed.

Sales: What sold us was that Farhad (Fred), upon checking out our furnace room in the basement pointed out two critical things: that we needed an air vent to the room so the water heater can work better and that we needed 2 pipes to the outside of the house instead of 1. As your average homeowner, we are no HVAC experts, so to have someone point out those things was really important, since it's not just about "buying a furnace and a/c". Product: they use Lennox products and we opted for very high end since in the long run, it will be better. The furnace itself is much smaller than our old Lennox model and everything looked really neat and tidy. Installation: the guys worked 10 hours without lunch/dinner until the job was done. They laid out out tarps to avoid creating a mess from the front door to the house, and they even suggested/helped us move the A/C unit in the backyard to a side location so grass cutting will be easier. They also showed us how to use the smart touchscreen thermostat afterwards. Overall: it's been a month so far and everything is working great. Very satisfied.

Sales process: Sam is very thorough and one of the only sales people I've ever met that genuinely cares about what they are selling; he's not just looking to make a sale. He explained everything in extreme detail (based on your family's needs, home, budget, and gives you the proper recommendations). He also explained to us the pros and cons of each and why some customers choose certain items and others wouldn't. My husband was at the store initially, but he also made a house call and brought with him miniature versions of the actual blinds so I could see and choose colors in the actual rooms the blinds will be in. He pointed out things like wall color is easier to change than blinds so best to pick a color that goes with your style. Installation: Told us the blinds will be ready in 2 weeks (custom sized), came to install them to the day. We had 2 of the 6 windows' blinds motorized and he showed us the mechanisms and charging etc. Installation was clean, professional, thorough, no issues whatsoever. Price: very reasonable considering the quality and service. All in all, Smart blinds was fantastic for us. Sam is the owner - he's down to earth, and very good to work with.

Sales process: I had to move the appointment a couple of times due to our own schedule (over e-mail) and George was very accommodating. Installation: on time and very thorough. The bbq could have been on either side of our backyard door, but I didn't want it on the side that was closest to the meter. George patiently explained the implications of that (cost, where the gas pipe would go up and across the backyard door etc.), so I felt confident that he would do a good job either way. The finished product was perfection. Looked like it was part of the house. He also uses metal pipes instead of a rubber tube for the gas line. Most importantly: I never had a fireplace before, so George literally spent at least another 30 minutes after the installation to explain to me how to winterize the gas fireplace (i.e. you don't need to), how to use it, safeties, mechanisms and how it works since I was paranoid about gas leakage due to pets at home. Price: extremely reasonable with the amount, quality of work, and very high service. Great service and thank you again, Gas Guys/George!

Went to Alliance after reading all the superb reviews on homestars. We were looking for flooring without installation, as a friend was already doing that for us. Sales: Tinea (pronounced "Tina") was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and patient. Her explanations of the differences between the brands, styles, wood types, and engineered vs. solid wood were more in-depth and useful than the other places we went to. The company has a true desire to provide the best quality of service and flooring to the customer; not just to create sales volume. We were there for quite a while choosing colors and finishes. All the brands that they carry are high quality, most of which are made in Canada, which we liked. Pricing: very reasonable with high quality products. They have a good price range as well, competitive with all the other stores we visited. We were lucky enough to find a solid hardwood that was on sale, which made for extremely good value. Delivery: we bought the flooring at the last minute of business day Thursday. Tinea diligently checked for us to see if next day (Friday) delivery was possible, but we said Saturday would be no problem too. Tinea called us back Friday (the very next day after purchase) and all the wood was delivered 9am Saturday. The delivery guys were even early, and moved all the flooring in quickly for us. From purchase to delivery was a mere 36 hours! Overall: excellent service through and through, especially when you don't necessarily know too much about the different flooring types. The detailed descriptions are important to know what works best for your home. Very happy with the process and experience - quick, helpful, and painless.
