Not only is my kitchen more beautiful than I could ever have dreamed of, Lillian’s focus on all the aesthetic and functional details makes it’s a delight to work in every day. There were absolutely no regrets or oversights. An unexpected bonus was the joy of working with such dedicated, enthusiastic and skilled professionals who genuinely allowed me to be a full collaborated partner in the design. Lillian’s and Vlad’s expertise turned my vision into a real life masterpiece. I first met Lillian and Vlad 14 years ago when we had just purchases a small 1959 bungalow. Then they renovated another contractor’s new but poorly planned and cheaply done kitchen. Pulsar Design made it functional and added some small upgraded features, modest but important improvements. All we were prepared to do at the time. More than a decade later, I called Lillian again but this time it was to create my dream kitchen. When she walked in I would see her mind already excited by the design possibilities. Then she noticeably stopped herself and said “Tell me what you have in mind.” I had very specific ideas: the stain for the cupboards, the positioning of the sink and the microwave, the type of backsplash, countertop, flooring, drawer inserts etc. Lillian immediately began to improve on my vision, suggesting to gain more space we remove the bulkhead and shorten the depth of the island drawers. Her keen observation skills noted that the existing breakfast bar was higher than normal so it made it difficult for people to sit comfortably at it. When I excitedly I suggested glass doors with lead inserts, Lillian cautioned “You already have a lot going on here” and she was right, less was more. Lillian worked with awe inspiring precision to give me all the extra space she could to the nearest 1/4'’. She reworked the design numerous times to accommodate the drawer inserts I wanted while ensuring I had enough counter space beside the stove and the sink. (We joked that the whole kitchen had been designed around the garbage can inserts.)
