Appliance - Installation Disaster - Be Very Careful
I purchased a range, fridge, hood fan, dishwasher and microwave + surround kit. Service at the store was top quality. Sales person was polite, helpful and seemed well informed. The problems started to occurred after purchase and before appliance delivery. The first item problem was with the microwave surround kit. Sales rep suggested the 27’ as it was in the store and gave the appearance to more compact (he was aware of my kitchen design and dimensions). When the Goeman’s installer arrived, and opened the box, the first thing he mentioned is that the kit would not fit the existing opening for the microwave, only the 30’ kit would fit. 50% restocking fee charge to take back the kit back and had to purchase the 30’ kit. Second item that was of unsatisfactory. The installer advised that to complete hood fan installation additional work was need to the existing vent. This resulted in the stainless-steel extension piece was of no use as this items needed a reducer and took up too much space. This item was not returnable or even eligible for a restocking fee charge. This item is still in the box, unopened as per factory. An alternate date of installation was arranged and on that day, the installer concluded that the additional work could not be done as previously suggested. An additional week of delays due to what appears to be unprofessionalism at the company level and third party service installers. ****My Recommendation to anyone is to ensure you have every little detail perfect or it will cost you hundreds of dollars in restocking fees and items that you cannot use. ***My mistake was not reading the very low reviews rankings on this website. ***This is a costly learning experience***
