Mclaren custom homes did an incredible job transforming our bare bones basement into a beautiful and welcoming space! The whole process with Jon and Ross from initial discussion, design and planning to the final day was excellent. They are a class act and a true pleasure to work with. Every large project has its challenges and this was no exception with COVID lock-down hitting early on (!), but jon and Ross worked within our comfort level and after a short break, took on much of the work themselves to ensure we got the project completed without significant delays. The end result is fantastic - the quality of work is first class and we are getting a huge amount of use out of the space already. (The custom wine storage in particular is getting use!) This is the third time we have used McLaren Custom Homes and they will always be the first call for future work we have and first recommendation to friends looking for a company that produces top quality work, with a true focus on customer experience and satisfaction.

Excellent experience with MMR! Jon and Wil helped with initial ideas and design, working with our loose ideas to create the perfect custom built-in unit for our bedroom, helping us add storage as well as create a TV nook. They were a pleasure to deal with throughout and the finished product is truly first class. Wil and Ross completed the install - timing was inline with initial expectations and they made a real effort to keep everything clean and tidy throughout. Having recently moved into a new home, I wanted to look at options for changing locks and adding an alarm system. I found Protection Plus through Homestars and booked in Steve for a free "security audit". He was excellent and discussed necessary steps to better secure our home offering a few different options. He was open and honest and gave us great confidence in the company. We booked them up - they were very flexible on timing, which enabled us to get the work done just before we moved in. The locksmith John was awesome - truly knows his trade and was great about offering security tips as well. Very efficient and a very pleasant guy. Joe installed a new alarm system and again was a complete pleasure to deal with, he ran through the full system in detail and answered a bunch of further questions I had about other linked equipment. (will be following up to install smoke detectors in the new year) The whole job was done in a couple of hours with minimal mess or fuss. We had security film installed the following day, I only met the installers briefly, but again seemed great. In short, a great experience, prices seemed completely fair, the work was done to a high standard and the team I dealt with were fantastic. Thank you Protection Plus.

After two other electricians let me down at the last minute, I found Captain Electric through Homestars and am very happy I did. We needed knob and Tube removed prior to moving into a new house. Captain Electric worked within our fairly tight timeframe, carrying out a full inspection within 48hrs of calling and then arranging for a team to complete the work the following week. Diane in the office helped with the initial booking and all follow ups - very pleasant and super responsive which was hugely appreciated. Ryan completed the inspection and led the job (along with Cody). I can't say good enough things - he is a true credit to the profession and to the company. The work was completed to a very high standard and the care they took while working and when clearing up was exemplary. Everything was explained in detail and when faced with an unexpected problem, they called in another team to help and make sure everything was completed on the original schedule. I have a new go-to electrician!

I found Home Painters TO through Homestars and couldn't be happier. Excellent service from the initial quote, to the job being finished. These guys clearly care about their customers and getting the job done to a high standard. Ryan did the initial quote and also provided a colour consultation - he was excellent. Curtis and Pat completed the job itself - they were hardworking and detail oriented. Took the time to make sure everything was as we wanted, which can take some doing in a 100yr old house! Office team also very responsive and appreciated the regular check-ins. I will be using them again
