Bought this service right after our house was burglarized in September 2013. Almost a year to the day on a Saturday afternoon I was at a conference and my husband was flying back from Europe. Had a call from Alarmforce saying that an alarm had been tripped and was there anyone there. I said no as my husband was flying home. Then they said I had to make it home. I said that I was over an hour away and to send the security guard that we paid for, and I would make it home as soon as I could. They said that wasn't possible as we didn't pay for it, and they could only remove the alarm for 30 minutes. They then call back 10 minutes later as I am at at the train station saying that the alarm is going off again and I need to send a neighbour over to the house. I said that was ridiculous. If there was an r*bbery happening and my neighbour was injured then I was liable. So an hour and a half later I basically have to walk into my house by myself holding a hammer to protect myself (no joke!) because they wouldn't send someone out (and of course its a year after we were broken into). When my husband came home he checked the contract and flipped. Basically we were paying for a security guard service after all. My frequent attempts to contact Alarmforce over the next month to find out why then gave such bad advice and put me in a potentially dangerous situation fell on deaf ears. And no call back or apology from them. As a test my husband then set up a two of fake alarms over the next couple of weeks to see if the security guard would show up (AF had now reinstated it on the system for us). As you can guess, no one showed up to either event, and we have the camera footage to prove it. We are now two years later and ready to cancel. Lord knows why we kept on paying for a useless service, but thankfully we haven't needed them since. Not that we would have received what we paid for of course........
