This review is for the custom design, fabrication, and installation of a Siena 260 stair lift system in January 2022 by Stannah Canada Inc., 25 Valleywood Dr., Markham, Ontario. I initially spoke with Christy, Senior Advisor at Stannah who explained the models and options available, pricing, steps & times from order placement to installation in addition to identifying the March of Dimes program to financially assist qualified individuals with such devices. Her support continued during a stair lift “test drive”, through the stair measurement step, and in dealing with the March of Dimes until complete. Without a doubt, she has been one of the best company contacts I’ve had the pleasure of dealing with. If in need of a stair lift system, I would strongly recommend contacting Christy first. Installation was completed by Craig and Dan both of whom were both; • Vaccinated against Covid, masked, and properly kept their distance • Very personable and a pleasure to deal with • Knowledgeable of their product; installation quality was very high and all questions were adequately answered • Prompt in their arrival and installation efforts which took less time than anticipated • Tidy during their retrieval of parts & tools and during the installation & cleanup • Thoughtful in their demonstrations and explanations of how to use the system Although the stair lift has been in use for less than 1 week, it is obviously very sturdy in its installation & construction (tested by 2 heavy individuals) and very easy to use. Stannah products and service have my vote. Note – I have no connection with Stannah (other than being a satisfied customer)

After searching for a reliable, energy efficient water heater and a reputable contractor to install it, I decided to have True North Home Comfort replace my 17 year old rental with a John Wood unit. True to their word (and name), they were; • very punctual, arriving within 15 minutes of their earliest estimated start time and work was completed in 2 hours as expected • clean and tidy; floor mats were used where required, all areas were cleaned after work completion, and old materials were completely removed • obviously skilled in their trade A special thanks to Val who was kind enough to respond to my many phone and email questions and to Shawn and Tom who were not only friendly and accommodating regarding operational questions, but meticulous about their installation efforts. Based on this experience, I will be contacting True North in the future regarding replacement of my aging HVAC system.

Quartz City (recommended to me by my brother) fabricated a quartz top which I picked up and installed myself. Since the fireplace was not squarely set against the wall by the original builder, I provided a cardboard template of the top along with instructions on clearances and skirt dimensions required. Working with Quartz City was a positive experience. They were: • friendly and it was easy to work with Wayne, Olag, and George • prompt in fabricating the top in 3 working days • better on price than then comparable competitors • located just off Hwy 404 in Newmarket (shop location), making the trip from Ajax relatively quick With 1 minor issue which was easily resolved, the top fit very nicely and was finished beautifully. I recently hired Durham Plumbing Services Inc. to complete work for a basement washroom. This required breaking of the concrete floor, placement of drains and vents, and installation of hot and cold water lines for a shower, vanity, and toilet. This work was completed over 3 days and I was very impressed with David and his staff. Key points from my perspective include; • Timeliness – work was started at the promised time & date and completed on schedule • Cleanliness – drop cloths were provided where required, plastic sheets were hung, and the work area was cleaned upon completion • Quality of work – components were installed in a professional manner e.g. pipe runs were placed such that interference with future framing was minimized • Flexibility & Openness – input on placement of components was readily accepted, all questions answered, and opportunities for taking pictures were provided. This was all done in a very open manner. • Value – Durham Plumbing Service’s price beat the competition. Furthermore, David provided valuable input on some non-plumbing aspects of finishing my basement which I will be using. I have recommended them to my brother and would hire them again. David and his staff were a pleasure to work with.

I called AquaDry Technologies to obtain a quote to repair a leaking crack that ran from bottom to top of my basement concrete wall. Mark was very congenial and committed to visiting my home for an inspection and an on the spot repair if desired. He arrived as scheduled, showed videos describing the repair process, explained the associated warranty, gave a company history, and answered all of my questions. Afterwards, he provided a written quote for the required repairs which was in line with other quotes received. I decided to have him do the job based on his approach and the very positive reviews provided on HomeStars; he began repairs immediately and was completed in under 3 hours. During the repairs, Mark was open to additional questions and my taking pictures of the sealing process. He was clean and tidy – he removed his boots upon entering my house & used newspaper to catch debris created during the job. The work area was as clean after he finished as it was before. All work was done per videos viewed earlier. Within minutes of packing up his tools and materials I was presented with a Warranty Certificated and shortly afterward, an electronic invoice arrived indicating the bill was paid. I would most definitely recommend AquaDry Technologies (and have done so) and should I need further repairs, I will hire them again.
