We had just started a major kitchen and main floor renovation when my GC informed me that we had vermeculite in the attic. This had been missed on our initial inspection as it was sandwiched between layers of batt insulation. We had it tested and it came back positive for asbestos. Obviously our GC was forced to stop work immediately and I frantically started making phone calls to figure out how to deal with this with as little downtime to the project as possible. I work for an architectural practice and have contacts who I contacted first. In addition to this I searched Homestars as most of my contractors did not generally work on residential projects. I was sceptical at first having only read positive reviews for Ontario Environmental, surely they weren't that good. Marcello came and priced the job, provided the lowest quote by far and was able to start immediately. I honestly cannot tell you much I appreciate the service that was provided. The guys worked nights because of the hot weather in August, working Friday and Saturday to have it complete for Monday. We got the all clear on Monday and my GC was able to start work again on Tuesday with only 4 days lost. Totally professional and in constant contact while the guys were working. Marcello and Ontario Environmetal were cost effective, accommodating, efficient. He didn't ask for a deposit and had the work done quicker than anyone else had quoted.
