I previously had a 4ft wide rough opening with a hinged exterior door. I wanted to have that widened to 8ft wide to accommodate a sliding patio door which required a masonry wall knockout and installation of a new steel beam above. When I submitted my quote request I received a response from Crystal before I could blink. Tony then came out next day to take a look at my job and I knew I could place my confidence in him. His quote was very competitive and the workmanship of him and his team is top notch. I would highly recommend Straight Up Masonry and I will be hiring them again for my next wall knockout project in the future.

We're converting a hinged door to a sliding patio door in our basement which requires a new lintel. I reached out to Abu to design the lintel and produce the drawings and submit it to the City for a permit. Abu was a pleasure to deal with and is always super quick to respond to questions or even to follow up on the status of the permit. I would absolutely retain Abu's services for future work.

Kia was the first electrician called in to quote my job. It consisted of re-wiring my entire house during my full home renovation. His price was more than fair and I instantly hired him to take on the job. In a house without any insulation at all, Kia and his crew got to work and did exactly what they were supposed to do in the freezing weather of February. Call it crazy but that's dedication. Admittedly, since I was undertaking a lot of the renovation work myself, the job took longer than both me and Kia had anticipated but in the end the inspections and work went well. One of the other contractors had cut a wire which resulted in Kia having to replace it and he did a great job assessing and fixing the issue. I have referred him to my brother and will not hesitate to refer him to others.

My wife and I are in the middle of a renovation and wanted to move a basement wall. Doing so would mean the basement laundry room drain would be in the living space so we decided to have the drain relocated a few feet so that it remained in the laundry room when everything was completed. Vitaliy showed up to quote my work and tackled the job in a matter or hours. I couldn't imagine taking on this sort of work myself but Vitaliy's team made it look like a piece of cake. I am happy with the speed and quality of the work and wouldn't hesitate to hire or recommend his services. A++

This review is a bit late but does not take away from the fact that Slava provides a great service for his clients at a very fair price. Slava showed up at the house right away to quote me for my work and I instantly knew I wanted him to tackle the job. Compared to some other contractors I had over to quote me on the work, Slava had an instant understanding of my drawings and what I wanted whereas others just could not. My wife and I wanted to completely tear down the ceiling and replace the joists with some new tongue and groove planks installed on top to give us the exposed joist ceiling. The work turned out beautifully. There were a few hiccups with the work but it was due to the materials I had purchased and was in no way Slava's fault. He simply worked with what we had given him and delivered the final product as promised. We also had George do some additional framing such as moving a few walls, removing a few studs, etc. He's a great guy to chat with and is always willing to show you why he's doing certain things so you have an understanding when it comes time for drywall. Would I recommend R&M? Absolutely!

My wife and I had our house tested for asbestos and unfortunately it was found in the stipple ceiling, floor tiles (living room and basement) and drywall joint compound throughout the house. Add in the fact that the previous owners of the house were smokers we decided to fully gut our house. As one would do, we logged into homestars and immediately began our search for a contractor to carry out the asbestos abatement and demolition. After stumbling on Green Life's profile and reading the reviews I thought I would submit a quote request and Jason was super quick to respond and showed up at the house the very next day for a site visit. Jason explained the whole process to us and went over the materials he would be using to complete the work. We decided on the spot that Green Life would be the best team to tackle our demolition. The week before work began Jason was in contact with us to provide us with updates regarding when the bin would be dropped off on our driveway and what time they would begin their work. As work progressed, Jason would once again be in continuous contact with us for more updates and to let us know how work was progressing. His team completed the work to schedule and everything went off without a hitch and as promised the site was left clean. We showed photos of the finished work to our friends and they couldn't believe how clean the job was and the condition of the house considering it was built in the 1960's. When we scheduled our post-abatement indoor air quality testing, the specialist had questions about the site enclosure and Jason made the extra effort to drive over to the house to explain everything in person. Before deciding on Green Life, we received quotes from quite a few contractors but none came close to the professionalism that Jason and his team showcased. After speaking with our neighbour (who is also a contractor), they only had positive things to say about them. I have to thank Jason and his team for his top notch work and I wouldn't hesitate to hire or recommend him to anyone in need of his services. I should add that he has a passion for his work and takes great satisfaction in seeing a happy client. Speak with him for a few minutes and you'll see for yourself. Great job.

Angelina and Vince stopped by the house to complete some asbestos testing. They did an amazing job (even with a Golden Retriever constantly in the way) and are very knowledgeable when it comes to the work they do.
