Poor communication in scheduling driveway sealing. Their head office had difficulty finding work order, even though I could provide an order number emailed to me from their system. Work was performed nearly 2 months after "early bird" payment, without advance notice (car stuck in garage!) Driveway sealant was found on garage door and was not adequately removed. No note, no apology, no accountability. Numerous attempts to contact Canadian Property Stars were made over 3 months via email and phone with no response at all. Canadian Property Stars demonstrated poor service delivery and poor customer service. I will not do business with them again and will have to re-paint my garage door.

Our home was built in 2001 and after a few broken window seals and years of condensation indoors, it was time to replace them. I got quotes from 5 different organizations and chose Eco Choice Windows & Doors as they seemed to have the best value. Not the cheapest, not the most expensive - just right. We had all our windows replaced with triple pane windows, a new double pane patio sliding door and a metal front door. The quality of their products is great with solid mechanics and zero condensation on the coldest of days. We had everything installed in 3 phases and where Eco Choice fell a little short was with estimating their install times. The install of the door was completed on time. The install of the first batch of windows felt rushed and finished at 11pm. The second batch of windows was not completed in 1 day as planned and required a second 10 hour (!) day from the crew, on a holiday no less. The install teams were friendly, courteous and very hard working - a very tight knit team that enjoy working together. The fact that they returned on a national holiday to complete the job shows their dedication and determination to get things done right. Even with the install overruns, I would not have changed a thing. Our windows/doors are beautiful, high quality and high performance. The Eco Choice Team was responsive, courteous and ultimately delivered.

I had 8 quotes to re-shingle my roof, including smaller one crew outfits to larger established organizations. The quotes ranged from $6,000 to $16,000 which in itself was interesting. These 'static ventilators', which look like smoke stacks are becoming increasingly popular because they move more air without the need for any moving parts. What's interesting is how few roofing companies know how to install them properly. The manufacturer [a Quebec based company, ventilation-maximum.com] clearly states in multiple places on their website and manual that "Any openings other than Maximum Ventilators or the soffits must be completely sealed." If not done, ventilators will simply not be efficient. Not only do I see many homes with the stacks *and* mushroom caps installed, some of the vendors that provided estimates were oblivious to this yet. One suggested mixing a ridge vent with the static ventilator! Another suggested that one would do, arriving to this decision without having taken any measurements. Kevin understood how this product works and his estimate included closing my 7 traditional mushroom cap vents with 2 static ventilators. The crew that did the work were friendly, clean and respectful to not only me, but also my wife and young children. Their accounting team were also very responsive and accommodating. In the end, I sought a reputable roofing company that had local roots and great service. I believe I found that with Complete Roofing.
