a few years back I used an outfit called pro-master garage service for a garage door service. I found them out of the yellow pages, instead of homestars. what a big mistake. I now believe from that company I was sold stuff I didn't need and that I was gouged. I vowed next time I had a garage door problem i would go on homestars. I did and chose Dodds and they were fast and easily half the price of my last repair, and very courteous. A word of advice.. don't necessarily go for the cheapest call out price, like I did before.

Cosmo installed an airhandler in our attic to a/c our second floor bedrooms. we have radiators and didn't wan't to put ducts down to the first floor. Excellent job all around. very happy.

Bob is just incredible. We've never had a contractor before who has known more about the nuts and bolts of our old house. Unlike some contractors, if there is a cheaper solution to fix a problem, bob will suggest it. I feel we've saved thousands of dollars by using bob because of this. He is also very proactive in anticipating the best way to do something, or install something, etc, even when we haven't thought of it. In contrast to other contractors who haven't done it that way and go by exactly what you tell them to do, and afterwards we wondered they/ or we hadn't thought of the better way to do it, which seemed obvious in retrospect. I give bob my highest rating and would reccomend him to anyone.

Bob did a stellar job and we would definitely hire him again. there were no surprises. it was smooth sailing all the way. Not only did he do a great job on the powder room, but he lent his expertise to us in helping us fix some thorny house ( non-powder room) issues that had vexed us for years. His knowledge of old houses, of which ours is, is impressive. I can't reccomend him highly enough.

Old house with old clay pipes to street. Dan Mac replaced them. Hard to get the pipes as we had a tree right over them but Everything done on time. Easy to deal with no. No surprises on the bill. Would use again.

My Garage Door wouldn't open. This company had the biggest ad in the toronto yellow pages and a small 35 dollar intial to come out and look at it. Continous upselling once repairman arrrived. Quoted a price on repairing a component within the job, and after I okayed the repair, he said oh by the way it's twice the cost because that's "there are two of these components and I forgot to mention it. " I had a strong sense that I had been deliberately misled. Would not use again. Next time I need a garage repair done I will ask if the repairman that comes out is on commission. And I will try a company that has a larger fee just to come out in the hopes that I won't be sold something I don't need after they arrive.

Partial Chimney rebuild needed (20 courses) as well as some tuck pointing around other parts of house. (during rebuild there were no clay tiles found inside existiing old chimney so we had a liner installed as well as reccommended by home inspector who initially looked at chimney. Good communication with contractor, emails answered promptly. for the estimate, Contractor climbed on roof took pictures of problem areas and showed them to us. bricks used as well as mortar used matched old chimney very well, allowed to pay after entire job was done and chimney was tested, don't know if this is the usual policy, but we appreciated it. Renaldo and crew were very pleasant. Price was comparable or lower than other estimates. Would use again.
