We recently purchased a new home in Kanata. Simply Comfort is the company that owns the rental hot water tank. DO NOT sign with this company! They force you to sign iron clad 10 year contracts with no way out other than a massive and inflated buy out. As the new home owners, we have been sent threatening letters by this company if we do not sign a new long term and expensive contract with them. This contract is non negotiable. We have been paying our monthly fee. The latest threat is that they will go after the previous owners in court, who they expect to go after us in turn. This is truly disgraceful. Simply Comfort is a new breed of company who specialize in strong arming and threats to force customers to sign contracts they are not at all comfortable with. If you are selling your home and are under contract with them, BEWARE! They are quite happy to come after you in order to threaten the new owners. We have no wish to deal with such a company. It would be wonderful if they were to simply come by and remove their hot water tank and leave us be.

Thank you for providing us with your feedback, however, we are dismayed to hear of your concerns. Please be advised that in most cases, the transfer of ones equipment from one home owner to another, is quite a standard practice. Also be advised that our “Accounts Receivables” Department would seek a home owner legally, only is if he/she (previous home owner) failed to disclose the leased equipment to the new home owner, or if he/she is past due on payments towards the equipment. I’m sure you can appreciate, as we invest the best quality products in home owners properties, that we would want to ensure the equipment is accounted for, as after all, it is Simply Comfort that owns the equipment.

With all of this in mind, we would like the opportunity to discuss this matter with you further.
