Manny painted the hallways and stairwells of our two-storey house. The upper stairwell is very tall so I was reluctant to tackle it on my own and, because several long cracks had to be repaired, the prep work was considerable (digging out the cracks, plastering, sanding). But Manny and a colleague did a masterful job of preparing the surfaces, and their painting was everything you'd hope for from professionals. Right from our first meeting to get an estimate, Manny impressed us. And he didn't disappoint with the final job - which is always more than just the actual painting. Some pluses beyond the plastering and painting: Manny was punctual, making efficient use of our time and his; he was clean, with his own appearance and how he treated our home; and he was quiet, not creating a major disruption in our lives. It's been almost 2 years since the renovation and we are happy with the way our kitchen was done. John took the time to listen to our ideas and answer our questions. He was a great communicator before, during and after the renovation. The crew that came to our house were good workers and considerate. We have recommended Avonlea to others.

Our comment is more proof that Gator Custom Windows Ltd does good quality work. They installed new windows in our house in 1988. At that time George (the owner) came to our home and took the time to explain to us various points about the windows. It seemed difficult to budget for when we were young, but the windows were definitely worth the money. Even today, the windows and frames are in very good condition. We had some other renovation work done by Gator, and it was also excellent. George and the Gator team have always considered our needs and our means; they are sincere and dependable.

A friend of mine recommended Davenport-Campbell 14 years ago when we changed the furnace system from oil to gas. They did a great job in good manners. We had ongoing problems with previous company that had installed an air conditioning system (right from the start for 5 years on). So, we asked Davenport-Campbell to help us. Eventually we had to replace the system, however it cost us less for the new system. And since then, we haven't had problems for several years. This winter, after 14 years for the first time, we had some problems with the gas furnace, and again we had a good response from Davenport-Campbell. The problem was solved temporarily within a day and Andrew assured us for the emergency contact in case for the weekend. He didn't pressured us but explained us the situation and gave us option of a new furnace or repair. Next day, even on the weekend, the sales person came to give us to explain the different types of new furnaces including all the discount opportunities. He answered all our questions and we were comfortable to decide a new furnace. They installed the furnace the following week. The person who installed was their family member. He was very professional and impressive. It's good to know the company like them.

We had to be patient for them to respond our phone inquiry. They were simply very busy in the summer of 2006. However, the estimate was very reasonable (less than others we checked) and the work started on time. The workers showed up everyday even on a hot-humid summer day. We appreciate Brad's leadership and their hard work. Our basement is leak-free.
