This is the first bad review I've written. So disappointed with this company. We signed up for the "Complete Program" excited about the aeration, over-seeding, and weed control for our lawn. Their schedule says they will come in early spring and then every 5 or 6 weeks to perform a range of services in a logical order for best results. First visit was fine and then these guys disappeared. 8 weeks later I finally called wondering if they'd show up. I got an apology and a couple days later came home to see their team had come and done what was obviously a hot potato, rushed, haphazard job of fertilizing and weed control. I had pellets all over my front walkway, in my garden beds (which is not good for other plants), and hardly anything done in my back yard. Fast forward to the end of June and they are late again to do aeration coring and over seeding. I get a call back saying they are going to show up on a particular day and that I should mark where my sprinkler heads are. I have 2 sprinkler heads. That's it. I think " Yes! Finally some good service." Nope. 3 days afte their promised visit, I see they still haven't shown up (boo). So I call (yet again) asking why the work still hasn't been done. It turns out they came days earlier and decided that the 2 (yes only 2) bright white flags I put on the sprinkler heads "weren't high enough off the ground" - so they simply packed up and left without doing anything or saying anything to me ... Astounded as much as I was, the folks on the phone promised (again) another rush visit to get the work done and re-establish a good customer relationship. 12 days later, it's the middle of July and nothing. It's over. I'm done chasing a company that breaks their promises. I got a partial reimbursement, a crappy looking lawn, and I'll do the work myself. Save your money and look elsewhere for a lawn care solution.

Reviews were great so we submitted an online request for a quote to check out our roof and make sure the "trash pandas" we've heard and seen up there lately didn't break into the attic or do any severe damage. The Gates team responded super fast and booked a nice early AM appointment ASAP to come check it out. Boris showed up a few minutes early (love when service folks are punctual) and was eager to help us sort out our raccoon issue. He did a very thorough inspection around our whole home and got up on the roof safely to check out the issues. Within minutes he gave us a great status report (the raccoons hadn't invaded but did do a bit of damage) and explained the vulnerabilities for real raccoon intrusion that he did discover on our roof. We suspected a few of them with an older home like ours. Their approach is really low-pressure and respectful. Boris walked us through all the options (showing us super helpful photos) and we came up with a plan to "raccoon proof" the risky parts of our roof where we saw evidence of their break-in attempts. He fixed up the damaged spots and did a really thorough and clean looking job on the protection. We thought Boris was fantastic and our cat did too!

We are super happy with the new black galvanized steel railing that Oleg made for us. OLG responded quickly to our our request for a quote. Oleg came by with a nice digital portfolio of his work and gave us honest, friendly advice about how to update our porch railing and make it last for years. We thought we wanted wrought iron but Oleg recommended galvanized black steel- it's stronger and it will last longer. We got the classic look we wanted and the peace of mind knowing it won't rust for ages. It's extremely well made and they obviously take customer experience seriously. After the job was done, we found a couple little spots that needed a paint touch up and Oleg had that taken care of in less than 24 hours. Delighted. These guys are awesome.

Royal Decks literally made our dream come true! We approached Miro with a few hand drawn sketches of the kind of deck we wanted. He listened, asked lots of questions, and mapped out all the possibilities for us with smart suggestions on how to keep costs on track. He created amazing 3D renderings of the new deck and our house - so we could visualize exactly what we wanted, in terms of colours and shapes before signing off and starting to build. This sales process really sets them apart - it was so fun. Miro laid out a clear schedule for the build, never went over budget, and was always available if we had questions. On day 1 of the build, Steve the master carpenter showed up with Jay and worked meticulously and efficiently to get everything done on schedule. We are super picky about details and these guys did everything so well. If you go with Royal Decks - ask for Steve, he is a true craftsman who takes tremendous pride in his work. He came to work on weekends, and he always had great suggestions on how to make sure so things turned out awesome (how we should arrange the deck lights, trim the steps etc...). Unlike other contractors who just follow their work orders blindly, these guys care so much about the finished product and how it will function for the customer. That made all the difference for us. Steve and Jay were amazing. Our deck is so much better than we hoped. We love it. Thanks guys!

Andrew and his team did an awesome job trimming and shaping our 2 huge cedar hedges, and selectively pruning a yellow maple tree in our back yard. He had great advice and tactics for ensuring the shaded parts got light , and everything stays healthy (we were afraid parts may die off). They work efficiently and safely and they cleaned up really quick when they were done. Happy to report that everything is responding well to the pruning and there's lots of new growth. Getting an estimate was really easy (they are really quick to respond via email) and the pricing was totally reasonable for expert work.
