We have had alarm systems in every house we lived in. For monitoring, we always went with one of the two large companies. This time, based on friend's advice, we decided to try Trilex Security, a mid size Ottawa based company. We are so pleased we made this decision. We were offered a package that covers monitoring for burglary, fire, flood, low temperature, and carbon monoxide. To our surprise the monitoring was less than we used to pay for basic monitoring with our previous company. My husband always wanted remote access to the alarm system and a couple of cameras but we were always told that it will be $15-$20 extra per month. He got his wish with Trilex for under $4 extra per months. So far we are quite pleased with our choice and my husband will need to upgrade his mobile data plan if he keeps accessing the cameras remotely to check on the house.
