We had a very unfortunate experience with ClearView Plumbing and Heating. They came into our house and pressured my fiancé into an upgraded water heater when all that was needed was the heating coupling fixed on the existing unit. I let my fiancé make the decision to do what she felt was needed because I was in meetings at work. The person who came in pressured her to get a new water, which we got and then went on to try and get her to purchase a valve to control the water pressure coming in to our home. I contacted the City of Calgary Water Dept. and based on their readings our water pressure was within the normal guidelines, yet ClearView continued to argue that it was not. We did not do what ClearView suggested we should. Thankfully. After one day the water heater had a leak, which was identified by the ClearView service tech as a manufacturers issue, not an install issue. We had water leaking from the top intake pipe into the water heater. That tech then said, "your warranty with us for future issues on this tank will not be valid because your water pressure is too high into the house", even though any issue with the tank would have nothing to do with the pressure into the house. I argued this, but he put it into his iPad notes system and stated that was that. None of this is the big issue with ClearView though. I'm only getting started. During the repair of the water heater, the tech broke the water supply line to the humidifier causing water to spray throughout our utility room. I could hear him swearing from upstairs. I went down to find him using our towels without asking us to clean up the mess. He fixed the water supply line to the humidifier and then left. The next day we went downstairs and found our utility room area and surrounding carpeted area flooded. The water supply line to the humidifier was loose and spraying water everywhere. We called ClearView right away, as well as our insurance, and the same tech came out to assess the situation and stated that they were not at fault, even though it was clear to us, as well as the third party insurance rep that it was their fault. ClearView refused to take any responsibility for this issue and so we had to fix our basement. Thank you to ClearView this cost us quite a bit of money. I do not recommend ClearView to even my worst enemy. They are not a good company who stands behind their mistakes. Even during the process to get them to speak on behalf of the incident, our insurance rep was unable to reach the tech as the ClearView office did not make him available to do so (they kept putting him out in the field). Please do not use ClearView.
