In the fall of 2013 we purchased a house that we planned to do a complete Reno on. In order to protect our investment we wanted a start with replacing the roof. We did our checks when looking for a roofer. D'angelo roofers appeared to be a reputable and good company. They came in with the 2nd highest quote but we decided after meeting with one of the reps we would go with them. So the roof went on. During that week the contractors managed to piss off my new neighbours by constantly playing their loud music despite being asked not to. Normally the music wouldn't be a big issue with me but as I found out when my neighbour was having it out with them, his wife was at home with terminal cancer and the noise plus music was causing her to be uncomfortable in her last days. You would think this would be enough to make anyone understand and stop with the music but the next morning they were right back at it until I unplugged the radio and threatened to call the owner. This was the final day and I stayed home to babysit them. Next that day a delivery of a fridge was being made to my house. The roofers had their company truck parked at the bottom of the driveway. They were asked to move the truck to aid in the delivery. I then went inside to prep the area. About ten minutes later I heard yelling and swearing from outside. I go outside to find the delivery man being surrounded by the roofers and a fight that was about to occur. The truck hadn't been moved as asked and the delivery man asked again if they could move the truck. A racial slur was made towards him which sparked an argument. I personally had to separate them. Then get the truck moved and be a peace keeper to simply have my fridge delivered! Next, yup it keeps going. There was the cleanup, or lack of clean up. There was nails and paper everywhere. With a 2 year old and a dog the nails were a concern. My wife and I chose to clean it up ourselves rather then get them to come back because of the problems we had. Now that the roof was on we were just happy it was over and that we wouldn't have to deal with them again so we moved on. The roof looked good. Until the spring of 2014 when we discovered after returning from a vacation that the roof was not installed properly! The one and the only thing we wanted from our roof was for it to protect us from the weather! To protect our hard earned money we were putting into out house! We had well over 3000 dollars of water damage caused. We called d'angelo and sons and talked to everyone to have the roof fixed and the damage inside fixed. We were told that they were experiencing a higher then usual amount of claims that spring but they would make everything good. Time passed and we had not heard anything from them. So then we again starting to call. This time they sent a rep out to look at the roof who told us it's jugs been a bad winter..., that the rough may or may not have been installed right and that he would be in touch with us. Two weeks passed with no follow up. So again we called this time getting ahold of one of the owners who gave us his word all would be made right. He wanted to use his guy to fix the inside of the house and that the roof would be replaced. Guess what..... That's right Nothing! To our own fault we gave up and because we had survived the summer rain with no leaks we let ate it and moved on leaving the damage inside for a future project. Now spring of 2015 is starting and the regret has set in and the phone call run around has started again. Again with the same promises of someone will call you back, with no return phone calls. Again the water leaking into our walls causing damage.... Looks like it's going to be small claims court at this point. Soooo in summary if you want a inconsiderate, confrontational, lazy, incompetent, unprofessional roofer who has no pride in workmanship and does not make their mistakes right then d'angelo and sons is for you!!!! STAY AWAY!!!!!!!

Thanks for your review. At this time we would like to take this opportunity to educate our homeowners in General of the cause of this leak. As Mentioned in the review, "we had survived the summer rain with no leaks." This is correct, we would agree that you would have no problems or leaks with our installation. The cause of the leak during this winter is caused due to ice damning. We would like to quote a CBC news coverage that mentions Insurance premiums may rise: Insurers say its been a bad winter for claims. Ice damming can damage structurally sound roofs, making them crack under the pressure of melting ice and causing water leaking inside homes. The title of this news ad is "Ice Dams" wreaking havoc. Its our understanding that heat lines existed before our roof install. This is a great preventative measure to take. We do not re-install used heat wires but you do require new ones. We highly recommend to this client and all our clients who have problems with ice dams, to maintain your roofs via working heat wires, proper snow removal of rooflines. And also steaming ice dams off which we can provide as a service as well. We do apologize for your issues and would recommend for you to do any of the above.
