We had a few hiccups on the day-of, but overall our experience with Galaxy Windows was very positive. Dimitri was great, he came to the house, took measurements, offered us two different brands of windows and explained the difference between them, and had several catalogs of front door styles to choose from. Once the order was placed, Alex e-mailed a computerized drawing of the door to confirm everything was exactly as we were expecting so that there were no surprises. We had just had our driveway paved, so the crew wasn't allowed to park in our driveway which caused a big delay while we debated delaying the job. Once we got rolling they were fantastic, very clean, the windows look perfect, the door is solid. The stayed until 9pm that night trying to get the entire job done ( 7 windows, 2 sliding doors, 1 front door) but they just couldn't do the last sliding door. They returned a few days later to finish the job, but in the meantime our property was cleaned up and the last door was stored in the garage and out of the way. One major bonus to going with Galaxy vs anyone else we had quotes from: they'll install new wood trim around the windows inside the house. Everyone else would give you a wood box, but no trim to finish it off (or they'd give you you a finished, cheap looking vinyl frame). We opted for the more expensive brand of windows and they were worth it. The house is quieter inside, everything opens incredibly smoothly, and our neighbours all compliment us on the fresh look. Mark covered up our concrete stairs with stone that has completely transformed our front entryway. His finished product is exactly what we were looking for, and his price beat out the other quotes we got by a decent margin. It took about 2 weeks from start to finish because Mark squeezed us in between other jobs to try to hit a deadline of our family visiting, and it rained a lot. He'd show up for a few hours before/after another job to try to get it done, but he always cleaned up afterwards so we never felt like we were living in a construction zone. Very professional and clean, and the finished product couldn't look any better. The picture below is from the second to last day, the stairs were blocked off while the mortar cured.

I would recommend Dave White Heating & Sheet metal to everyone, ESPECIALLY if you have an older home that needs some finesse. Lou came out after we were well down the road of replacing the old oil furnace and ducts in our house with another HVAC company. We had plans for all new ductwork throughout the house, and the OTHER company suddenly wanted us to start moving floor joists everywhere because they weren't wide enough for a standard duct to pass through. Lou came to the rescue and fabricated perfectly fitting ducts, and managed to install (and hide) almost every single duct/vent without cutting open walls that weren't already open. the best part? his price was LOWER than the other guy. Lou's guys also did a phenomenal job installing and running the new gas lines; the gas header is a work of art, and everything is labelled. The guys also managed to reuse our AC evaporator coil, even after finding it completely clogged, they cleaned it out for a minimal charge instead of insisting we replace it. When the first summer came around our original AC unit stopped working after a few days, Lou came by and had it fixed up in a matter of minutes. 2 years later, our house is always the exact same temperature in every single room of the house, heat or AC and we couldn't be happier. I called to get a seized lock repaired and he said he would come by within an hour and a half. Sure enough he did! Very pleasant to work with, he happened to have a matching replacement lock in his van so we were all fixed up pretty quickly. I had him look at another job that a previous locksmith said "can't be done". Well I guess it can be done, he'll be back to do it once the parts arrive!

We were building a main floor bathroom and basement full bath on the other side of the house from where the existing bathrooms were. Draincom sent someone over for a quote, who not only took a good look for us, he put a camera snake down the drain and marked out on our basement floor where the existing drains were for free! We only needed help doing the drain work, as I already had the tools and equipment to run the supply lines. We booked Draincom in a few days later. A delay on another job pushed back our job a day or two but once it got started they finished in 2-3 days (as estimated). The guy who did the estimate even stayed until 8 or 9pm that night to finish up some minor work to make sure they didn't have to come back the next day. These guys were having a blast, singing songs together while digging through mud. Very courteous guests in our house who covered up the floors to protect them from damage as they walked in and out. It's been 1 year and we have zero drain issues. My only complaint is that they used that red tuck tape to hold down their tarps, which left behind red marks on the floor (came off easily with some Goo Gone). Will definitely hire these guys for the next project.
