Both our quartz countertops on the kitchen island and the ensuite vanity were stained and we could not get the stains out despite trying numerous products. In addition, we had a small bridge behind our stove. Several months ago, we got a new stove that had a different setup from the original unit resulting in the stove sticking out too far past the countertop. We had the bridge removed and the countertops cleaned. Everything went well with the bridge removal even though some problems were encountered in taking it out without damaging the surrounding tiles. The end result looks so much better than before. The kitchen island cleaned up nicely. Unfortunately, they were not able to get all of the staining out of the vanity but, luckily, it is a fairly small area. Both servicemen were very professional and the work was done in timely manner. We would not hesitate to recommend this company to others.

After a bit of a kerfuffle in arranging a suitable appointment date, a suitable time was set. The two fellows arrived on time (actually a few minutes early) and were in and out in about 15 - 20 minutes. We live in a bungalow and opted to have just the inner and outer panes cleaned. We excluded the basement windows nor did we have the screens or the tracks cleaned. The result was as expected - its lovely to have clean windows again! I would definitely use the company again.

We had Reid in to clean a sofa, love seat, 4 throw cushions, 2 rocking chairs and ottomans, an area rug and some carpet tile. He showed up when promised and did a lovely job in good time. Our area rug in particular was starting to show dirt and was matted where we walk. It now looks like an almost new rug again. I think the price charged was very reasonable in view of the scope of the work done. I would certainly use this company again and wouldnt hesitate to recommend Reid to others.

We recently made a request through HomeStars for a quote on getting our windows and screens cleaned inside and out as well as having the glass panels on our back deck washed. Although we were happy with the work done by another company a couple of years ago, the quote from Windows R Us was quite a bit less and in view of the favourable reviews, we decided to give them a try. We were able to quickly arrange a suitable time for the work to be done. The two cleaners arrived on time after phoning to advise they were on their way. The work was done in a very professional manner (particularly considering the current COVID-19 crisis). We are extremely pleased with the result and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the company to others. We would certainly use their services again.

Approximately 4 years ago we had our front and back yards landscaped after having done a major renovation done to our home. Although there weren’t any major problems with the work done, we were never completely satisfied with the way it looked or the plants used. After reading the excellent reviews on HomeStars, we contacted David about having a major redesign done. The first step was meeting with a landscape designer who works with the company and having detailed plans drawn up. When we mentioned to David that we hoped to have the work completed by mid July because we were having a group of people coming for a barbecue, he assured us that the job would be done. Despite cold, wet weather during June and our belief that there was no way they could get the fairly extensive work done, he was true to his word and everything was finished prior to our party. The crew working on the project was excellent. James, the project manager, was always happy to answer all questions that we had. Everyone was very professional while being friendly at the same time and worked diligently during some rather long days. We are very pleased with the end result and have had a number of people stop and compliment the garden. I would definitely recommend Chinook for the great work done and their prompt replies to all enquiries. Should we need more landscaping done in the future, this is the company we will turn to.

We recently approached a local landscape company to do a total redesign of our front and back yards. We were referred to Michelle of Aris Landscape Design to have a new plan drawn up which included a planting guide. We met with Michelle to discuss our ideas and get her ideas on what would and wouldn’t work. After a few telephone discussions, a couple of on-site meetings and a few changes, we were presented with a lovely, detailed plan that included plants we probably never would have found on our own. We are now looking forward to having the plan brought to life this summer. We found Michelle very easy to work with and very responsive to any questions or concerns that we had. Changes were made in a timely manner and the whole process was handled in a very professional manner. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Aris to others.

I recently put our a request for quotes through HomeStars to have our windows and screens cleaned and within minutes of the request being submitted, I had a reply from Lisa. The price seemed reasonable and arrangements were quickly made for a crew to come out. The weather for the day originally scheduled looked like it was going to be rainy and the company was very reasonable in allowing us to reschedule the appointment. On the day of the appointment, the two young people arrived when scheduled and were very professional in handling the job both inside and outside of the house. They went above and beyond what I expected by cleaning the glass panels around our back deck (which I hadn’t even considered having done) as it fell within the amount of panes allowed under our quote. We were very pleased with the work and certainly wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this company to others.

We had a large weeping birch in our front yard that was diseased and needed to be removed. I made a request through HomeStars to get some quotes and was quickly contacted by Jeremy from Open Canopy. He made arrangements to come up and give us a quote on having the tree taken down, the stump removed and the area resodded. It was shortly after accepting the quote that they were able to come and complete the work which was done efficiently. We were very pleased with the job done and have since had the company do another small job for us. I would highly recommend the company.

Advanpro was recommended to us by the owner of the company who recently installed our new, high efficiency furnace. As we were very happy with his service, we were very pleased to have his recommendation. The appointment was arranged within 24 hours of contacting the company and the two technicians, Pat and Jeff, showed up right on time. They were fast and efficient, cleaning the ducts (with 20 registers) and changing the furnace filter under their Silver Duct Cleaning plan in about an hour. Cleanup after they left was fairly minimal. We would definitely use this company again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to others.

We ran into a glitch with our furnace on a recent frigid day and, although it started working again, we were concerned that it would go off again in the middle of the night. Trying to find a company that could come out the same day until we happily came across King’s. Chung arrived later in the afternoon and gave the furnace a thorough once over and made some minor repairs. He also made some suggestions on follow up that we should do. Chung is a personable young man and very professional. We were extremely pleased with the service we received. As an additional bonus, the service call charge was half that charged by some other companies. We would definitely recommend King’s to others and will use them again in the future.

I have an older Asus laptop that has generally always been an excellent computer but it was starting to run quite slowly. I thought it might be time to upgrade to a new computer but it was suggested to me that I might be able to upgrade my existing computer for far less money. After doing a little research, I decided to take it to A Laptop Shoppe. I have had occasion in the past to have my laptop checked by other companies but have never been fully satisfied with the results. I am pleased to say this was not the case this time. The tech checked the computer for malware and viruses but, luckily, didn't find any problems. He suggested that I upgrade one of the drives which would speed up everything. I have only had the computer back for a short time but, so far, everything seems to be working well and the cost was far less than buying a new computer.

After being quoted a rather exorbitant fee by another company to pick up our area rug and take it in for cleaning, I was looking for someone who could clean it at the house. In making a request for a quote to yet another company through Home Stars, I was asked if I wanted to submit it to other companies - great idea!! Kushal, the owner of Cleaning Unlimited, was quick to respond and we set a time and date. In view of the favourable reviews, we decided we would ask him to clean our two love seats at the same time. He and his wife arrived promptly at the set time and quickly got to work after explaining about the products they would use. The work was finished as promised and in good time and I consider the price charged was very reasonable. I would definitely recommend this company and we plan to use them again to clean carpets in our basement.

We have been in our house for over a year and still hadn't hung our numerous pictures and weren't sure on the placement of our furniture. We decided to call Kelly and get her help after reading the positive reviews on this site. She came in, went through all of our pictures, placed them around the house (and in ways we wouldn't even have thought about) and made some suggestions on furniture placement in our living room. We decided to have her back in to help us with the actual hanging. Kelly had an excellent eye and we were really pleased with her work. Would definitely recommend her to others although we understand that she may be moving to New Zealand.

Several months ago, we had our weeping birch and ornamental apple trees pruned by another company but weren't at all happy with the results so decided we would have them redone. After reading all of the excellent reviews on Turning Leaf, we contacted Blaine and asked for a quote. Due to staff shortages and the company's busy schedule, he was not able to get out for 2 or 3 weeks but that was acceptable as we weren't in a hurry to get the work done. After he came and gave us the quote, he thought it would be up to 5 weeks before they could come. Luckily, they had an opening and were able to fit us in much earlier. We were very happy with the work done by his staff except for two small issues. Firstly, the cleanup was not as thorough as it could have been and we had to spend some time the next day picking up a number of small branches that were missed. Secondly, the fellows drove up onto our lawn without asking us to reach one of the trees leaving a rut in our recently sodded grass. When we let Blaine know, he was quick to come out to the house to fix the rut which we appreciated. We would certainly use Turning Leaf again and would recommend them to others.

We have used Arpi's several times over the years and my parents were long-time, satisfactory customers of the company. As they had originally installed the furnace in the home where we are now living and based on past experience, we decided to give them a call to have an annual check done on this furnace. They were able to arrange an appointment immediately and gave us a call when the technician was 15 minutes away to confirm he was on his way. He arrived right at the scheduled time and spent a good length of time checking out the whole system inside and out and then explained what he had found. We were very pleased with the professional service and will definitely use the company again.

After reading the great reviews of this company on HomeStars, we decided to give them a call as we needed a general servicing on our garage door. They were able to arrange an appointment within a couple of days. The service tech arrived at the scheduled time and gave the door a good check-up. We would certainly use this company again if the need arises.

We recently needed to have a gas line run for our barbeque as well as a line to the garage for future use and the initial plumbing for an irrigation system that is being installed later this year. We contacted Pete the Plumber after receiving a recommendation from our landscaper. We did receive another quote in respect to this work but were very impressed with the knowledge shown in our initial meeting with the company and found their quote to be very reasonable (and, even better, lower than the first quote). Although they had to cancel our first appointment due to unforeseen circumstances on their end, they kept us well informed and immediately arranged a new time. Workers came when scheduled and the work was done in a very satisfactory manner. There was a little bit of a mix-up in the billing but this was quickly sorted out by their very friendly office staff and confirmed by email. We would certainly use this company again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others.

We have recently undergone a major renovation at the house and needed to get our City water meter moved to make it more convenient. In addition, we required what turned out to be a minor repair to our clawfoot bath tub. From the time we first contacted the company, we received prompt, efficient and friendly service and the job was completed quickly. We would definitely recommend Knight & Day to others.

We chose Wallace Fleming to oversee our whole-home renovation after reading reviews on Home Stars and meeting with Vaughan. While the project was certainly not without its unexpected problems, we had a great site manager in Jorme. He went out of his way to make sure that things went as smoothly as possible and kept in regular contact with us to keep us up to date on what was happening which we really appreciated as we were not living in Calgary during the project. For the most part all trades used did high quality work and have been more than willing to handle any deficiencies. Although the project went slightly over budget and was competed later than originally anticipated due to the unexpected issues with this older home, we feel that Wallace Fleming delivered what they promised and we would certainly recommend them to others.
