I too had a very small move, no appliances, minimal furniture, what I considered a very small job, the three hour minimum was what I expected. I have to agree that the one hour travel is misleading, I assumed that was literal travel time to the original pick up to drop off....nope, that's in my "per hour" cost. I have no idea how it could possibly have taken four hours to get a quarter of a truck full of furniture to my house, 20 minutes away but when I questioned the driver he assured me it was on the up and up and they didn't even take a break!!! My husband helped unload the truck, one of the men was very hard working, the other maybe not so much....took four phone calls in the time he was here. I will never, ever recommend this company as every person I've spoken to feels we've been grossly overcharged and I can't even imagine the cost if you were moving your whole house....wish I had checked out reviews before booking, I'm sure I could have definitely found a reliable mover at probably half the cost.

We are a bit surprised to read this review, as this was not the feedback we originally received form Jodi. Jodi was not present for the entire move but was responsible for the actual booking and payment. Her boss and his wife were at the pick up location, and were giving their furniture to Jodi. Upon arrival, at the pickup, our movers had to take apart many pieces of IKEA furniture, shrink wrap, pad and do some last minute packing ie. glassware, which was not part of the original booking. Our driver went searching for materials to accomodate the pack as the customer had nothing. When they were finished, her boss and his wife thanked and tipped the movers. As there is construction going on all over Ottawa, they did hit traffic between the pick up address and the destination address. Once they got to the offload, only Jodi's husband was present. Her husband requested that the guys put the bed together, which was also not part of the original booking. He was told this would add extra time, and extra costs. He replied "I don't care, go ahead and do it". Upon completion of the move, he also told the men they did a good job. An hour later, Jodi had contacted the office about her bill. She was happy with the bill explanation. She thanked us and said she got a good report from her boss and her husband.
