We had an unfinished basement we wanted some work done in. We wanted framing, in wall electrical, plumbing, insulation and finally wallboard. We wanted to do the finish work ourselves, so we did not ask for painting, tiling, flooring, cabinetry, trim and final install of sinks and faucets. There were rough-ins for a bathroom, but it needed to be adjusted and the walls had to be built. We needed 4 windows put in and duct work framed up as well as all the other walls and lights and outlets. Jason at Mariposa homes was very accommodating with the fact that we only wanted some work done and not a completely finished basement. He created his estimate with estimates from the other trades needed and showed all the figures he was using. This was very helpful in keeping track of the budget. All the trades he used seemed knowledgeable and respectful. The construction work done by Mariposa workers was equally skilled. Everyone worked when they said they would and completed on time. The site was kept clean and secure. There were a few budget overages, but some were due to new asks and some due to unforeseen difficulties. Jason kept in touch at all times and did everything he said he would. The budget included replacing the main water line to the house which was done by the plumbing subcontractor. Overall, the project went very smoothly and I would recommend Mariposa homes to anyone. We got another quote before starting, and it was almost double that of Mariposa's. I'm very glad we didn't have to use them.

Siding Vancouver did a complete overhaul of the exterior of our house. Siding, Soffits, Window trim, decorative stone, Gutters, Deck surface and Railings and a new front door. Their teams were polite, hard working and did a great job. The specialists they brought in for things like the deck coating were just as great. It did a take a long time to complete the job, and the yard took a bit of a beating, but with all the work that went on, that was a small annoyance for the great finished project. I would happily hire them again anytime. And, their bid was 10% lower than the other one i got.

I got several bids to install AC to our forced air heating system in our two story home. The Joyce bid was the same amount as the other bids, but the quote was more detailed, and they responded will to me questions, plus had good ratings on this site. So I chose them to do the job. They did the work quickly and showed up when they said they would. The system works well and I am happy with the work they did.

We did a full kitchen remodel with all new kitchen layout and cabinets. I chose colonial for the counter tops because they were close to my location. I went to the Burnaby showroom to look at samples and get a quote. Danny was very helpful and gave me a quote for quite a few different options. They only sell quartz at that location, but as that was what I wanted, it was fine. The measure appointment was on time and when I wanted. Then it took about three weeks for the install. The install went well and the counters look perfect. I had a big island with waterfall sides and it looks amazing.

We bought a house with a 28 year old gas fireplace. We went into the store and Dawne helped us with pricing out a bunch of options. She happily kept quoting us as our plans changed. Once we finally decided on the unit, it was installed quickly and neatly. They arranged for the permit, and scheduled the inspector as well.

we decided to remodel the kitchen. We also moved a wall. This meant moving a lot of switches, all the appliance's power supplies and adding more lighting. Curtis and Ian are great and Bruce as well. I've worked with the company before, and they always do a great job. They do high quality work, exactly as I ask. And they worked with me to adjust plans as needed.

We bought a house built in 1988 that had already had 6 windows replaced by House Smart. They looked so much nicer than the remaining old windows that we decided to do the rest of the windows. The quote appointment happened fairly quickly, and we got the quote on the spot. We wanted one window cut down and one door cut up and one door changed from a slider to French doors in addition the windows that were just straight replacements. The quote was reasonable for the amount of work. The windows are nice, but the frames are quite large compared to metal framed windows, so that takes a little getting used to. We got the "Atrium" vinyl windows. Also, it took 8 weeks after the quote to get the windows installed. It wasn't a problem for our timeline, just noting the wait period. The work was done all in one day with a team of 7 men. They tried very hard to keep the house clean and safe as they worked. The clean up wasn't perfect, but was quite good considering the mess of replacing windows and doors. It's only been one day since the install, without any rain. So, I'll come back and update the review if any leaks appear. So far, they look great and work well.

I bought a house with mismatched maple prefinished wood floors, then started a remodel. We needed the floors patched, and then refinished. I called several floor refinishers. Lee came out to quote when he said he would, and gave me a reasonable quote. It was lower than the other quotes I got, but based on the good reviews on this site, I scheduled the work. Arek and Trevor came out and did the work, after a short delay from the agreed on start date. They did all the work carefully. I was thrilled with the patching and sanding work, but not as much with the staining. Apparently staining maple is a tricky business. We went with just a light stain, but it does look a little blotchy in places. We requested a fix in one spot that was particularly noticeable. Lee scheduled the fix immediately and it was done to our satisfaction. So overall I was quite happy with the work, just not my choice with staining the maple. I feel I should have left it natural. Just a general comment to any others out there with light maple floors.

Chris was very professional, thorough and great to work with. He provided an in depth report and answered all of our questions. He inspected a condo for us and went from the roof to the basement checking everything out.
