Steph in Annex

We needed someone to cut into our ceiling to enlarge our attic access hole so that we could get contractors up there to install an air conditioning system and to re-wire the house. A small job but it needed to be done properly, since cutting into ceiling joists was involved. I found Paul on Homestars. He was very pleasant and a true professional. He came to the house first to assess the job and to provide a quote and came back as planned to complete the work over the course of a day. He communicated clearly about what was involved, taught us about the structure of our ceiling and attic, and was transparent about how he arrived at his quote. His work was excellent and he did exactly what he said he would do for the price he quoted, no surprises. He was meticulous in protecting our house from durst and in cleaning up afterwards. We will call him again when we move to bigger projects.

I spoke to William at Drainworks when our bathtub drip became a serious issue with hot water running non-stop. William did not have an appointment available for a few days but he called back with a new apointment that afternoon, after making a few calls without my prompting. Chris Leger was the plumber who came in the afternoon. He explained the problem fully, answered many (many!) of my questions patiently, provided a quote for the work he recommended in writing and waited politely as I privately discussed options with my husband. When we agreed to the work he did it on the spot. It took him about 3hrs to replace the bathtub faucets and shower components (unfortunately there was no quick fix and the wall had to be broken into) and he did the job carefully without cracking tiles. He was professional and friendly and we are very happy with the work performed. No surprises . And he cleaned up after himself, leaving me no mess to clean up!
