We approached Jason at Tranquility for designing our backyard in May 2015. The project was finished in August 2015.
The "Plus"
(1) You don't need a deposit until the job is done.
(2) The patio Jason built looks quite nice and welcoming. It is a round brick patio with about 11 - 12 ft in diameter. I am quite happy with the patio.
The "Minus"
(1) The project was put off a few times (he was busy with other projects). When he finally started, we had to go on holidays and we could not be there to supervise the job.
(2) Jason is a handy man and not a landscape architect or designer. We had to go buy all the flowers and shrubs ourselves. We had to tell him where to put the rocks and plants. Jason only looked after the delivery and putting the plants in the soil. He had no idea about gardening as stated on the flyers. (3) The garden looked half finished and barren when he finished the project. It was not what we expected. There was gravel all over the place (other than the patio) with a few lonely plants scattered in between. Jason could not tell us how to make the garden look better. All we saw was gravel, lots of gravel.
(4) We had to hire someone else to complete the job which included building a wooden deck, installing steps to go down the garden (our backyard is on a gentle slope), adding wooden borders on all sides of the so called "rock garden", and adding flower pots and plants.
(5) Our total cost comes up to $15,000. If we had gone with another professional landscaper to begin with, we would have saved a lot of hassles.
(6) Just the patio alone with the rocks and gravel should not cost $10K! (Consider we had no trees and grass)
We tried to contact Jason afterwards but got no response.
