I got a ducane furnace, lennox ac and navien tankless system installed in May 2024. I got a few quotes but ended up going with Megacity because of the responsiveness, reviews and proximity to me. I always hear that with hvac installs the importance is the installer vs the equipment, so I wanted someone who's worked in old Toronto houses. My AC unit died and was 20+ years old - had an old furnace and big ol' hot water tank. So it was time to upgrade everything - it was a good run. I called Tony on Friday evening and he picked up. He had Dave come out the next morning at 9am and do a quote. Dave was great - I asked him a bunch of questions on the equipment, why they would choose specific brands and types of equipment and he was happy to answer all my questions. He quoted all the specific models so I could search them up after and see what the reviews were. Ram came the following Thursday for the install. They were a little delayed getting going, but I got a call from Tony saying they were delayed and when to expect folks to come. Ram was at my house from noon until 11pm - there were a few hiccups on the install and getting the ac working, but Ram wanted to make sure everything was working fine when he left - which it was. They cleaned up all the old equipment, cardboard and gear and carted it away. Tony followed up to make sure I was happy and said they would swing out prior to the fall to make sure the furnace is working no problem. It is tough to fine folks that you can trust are pros and will do the job right - I felt great with my experience with the folks at Megacity. Definitely recommend them.

My experience with TRI was positive. The good: The quality of the work is great and the professionalism of the crew was top notch. TRI was very responsive to my request for quote, called me while going through the requirements for the job and provided great detail in the estimate. Their pricing was mid range, landing in the middle of the various quotes I got. When we encountered some issues, they stopped work and had me come home to look through what needed to be done to make sure I understood where cost over runs would be incurred. The crew was articulate and took pride in their work. The Bad: Cost overruns were not officially quoted. In an old house like mine, I expect there to be repair work or something crazy from a renovation previous owner and I budget for this sort of thing. My original job quote was $7500 and I had overruns of $1500. I typically expect anything outside of a 10% variance to be quoted and signatures required. I was verbally provided a "up to $1200" overrun - so not having anything officially to sign off on and minimal back up when invoiced the bothered me. The Ugly: The clean up was poor. There was lots of aluminum left from the soffit/facia work and cigarette butts (mainly on the road). The aluminum was particularity concerning as I have small kids and it posed a high risk for cut feet. It should be noted that I did not call to complain as I cleaned it up fairly quickly.
