We had essentially 3 separate projects: lift and relevel most of our interlock pool deck that had been installed in 2007; install stone curbing along both sides of our newly excavated and widened driveway in preparation for paving, and installation of a small retaining wall/flower box at the top of the driveway. From the start Amir provided clear communication, offered suggestions, made several trips to show us samples, provided regular updates & quick responses to define the project & provide costing. Once the project was underway, Saad (Amir's associate), Roger and Kareem were hardworking and kept us in the loop. They had good attention to detail, tidied up well, were respectful and communicated regularly. An example of their attention to detail: They used several different tools to ensure appropriate slopes and leveling, including manual and sophisticated electronic levels. They worked with us on minor changes to the project scope as the work unfolded. For our driveway widening, while we had contracted for the paving on our own, Saad came to oversee the paving installation. He made sure the paving was installed to the height of the curbs he had installed because he had taken the extra step to incorporate appropriate sloping when he put in the curbs. He also had the paving contractor spray water on the driveway to confirm there weren't minor swales or imperfections keeping water from moving away from the house. I wouldn't have thought to ask the paving guys to do that and I can tell you the previous time we had paving installed, the paver didn't do that test. These guys were great and I would hire them again without hesitation.

Our shingles were at the end of their useful life and over the summer we sought quotes from a few roofing companies. The job involved removal of existing shingles and installing new shingles on a storey and a half house, a sunroom extension and a pool house. Of the companies that actually took the time to come provide a quote we selected Twin Peaks. Jim who came to provide the estimate was very personable, explained our needs thoroughly and provided knowledgeable answers to our questions as we went through the scope of work with him. They were accommodative in terms of scheduling as we had to have some stabilization work done on a sunroom extension before we could start the roofing work. Once scheduled the job started on time and was completed over a day and a half. Communication was excellent with both Jim during the estimation / quote phase and Max (owner) during the scheduling and work phase. Max was onsite during the work. He and his crew were all friendly, courteous and very attentive to clean-up.

We have a sunroom addition that had been installed by a previous owner. Due to a combination of poor soil and what appeared to be supports installed at inadequate depths the structure had settled. We hired Clarke Basement Systems to install their SmartJack system to stabilize the structure. Using the SmartJacks they also raised one of the corners of the sunroom which brought windows and doors back into alignment. It was like night and day to have doors that no longer stuck when attempting to open them. From meeting with Ron who came to assess the job and provide a quote through to booking and work completion communication was excellent. The job took two days and it was heavy work. It gave us added comfort that Don Clarke (owner) was on site throughout, working with his installation team. He was very patient and courteous in walking us through what they were doing as the job unfolded. Our experience was positive and we would not hesitate to hire Clarke Basement Systems again should the need arise.

We live in an older home and had a leak at the base of our toilet which had been installed 3 years ago by another plumber as part of a bathroom reno. I'm not afraid to tackle DIY jobs but know my limits. Given the age of the house and the plumbing and that a seal shouldn't fail in so short an amount of time, I wanted a professional to come diagnose the problem. However I didn't want to call the original guy that did the install. I found Valentin on Homestars. Sure enough the problem wasn't straight forward. He showed me the issue, proposed a solution, had the parts available and within an hour and a half or so the problem was corrected. Valentin was prompt, courteous, obviously knowledgeable and fair in his pricing. Without question this was money well spent and we would hire him again.

Small job. Install eavestrough on our pool shed and remove/dispose existing eavestrough at front of house and install new. Stas was very responsive, polite and courteous. We were pleased with the quality of the work and would not hesitate to recommend him to friends and family.

We had a gas leak which the gas company identified as being on the line connecting to our swimming pool heater. While we were not yet in pool season, for safety the gas company issued a warning tag with a timeline for the leak to be repaired. George was prompt in returning my call and arrived on the day and time agreed. He walked me through the process as he conducted his own inspection, troubleshooting and repair. He was also prompt in filing the necessary paperwork with the gas company to clear the warning tag. I found him to be thorough, professional and polite. I would hire him again if I needed gas work done.
