On Saturday morning we woke up with no cold water in our upstairs bathroom. We called a number of plumbers on HomeStars and Valentin was the only one who picked up the phone. He asked a number of good questions, determined our problem and promised to arrive within the hour, as time is of the essence when dealing with frozen pipes. He arrived on time, he was very tidy and considerate, and while our pipes defrosted, he assisted us with some additional minor plumbing problems we had in our house, all at no extra charge (since he was there waiting for the pipes anyway). He also diagnosed and repaired a problem with our shower that we had not even picked up on. Valentin checked and re-checked his work when he had finished to ensure that the job was done properly, and offered us valuable tips to avoid a similar problem in the future. We were very impressed by Valentin's thoroughness and professionalism and would unhesitatingly recommend him to others and hire him again.

We had a crazy weekend organized; four houseguests, dinner for 10, then my four year old son's birthday party. I was at my wit's end trying to figure out how I was possibly going to be able to get everything done. I decided to call Maret and she was truly a lifesaver!!!! Within 20 minutes of my call, Maret was at my house to provide an estimate. I told her my budget and what I needed and she took the time to explain to me how long the cleaning would take and exactly what it would entail. I needed our place cleaned the Friday before Mother's Day, and Maret (amazingly, given the demands on her time for that particular day and by repeat customers) told me she would make it happen. Maret and her lovely ladies showed up exactly on time, they were very professional, and they worked extremely hard to make sure that my house sparkled prior to our crazy weekend. Maret ensured that the job was done to her exacting standards, and this meant that her crew stayed on longer than they had anticipated, but Maret only charged me the original amount we had agreed upon. I don't think my house has ever been as clean (and likely won't be again until I get Maret back in!). Having a sparkling clean house was a very wonderful Mother's Day gift. I would unhesitatingly recommend Maret's services should you require a cleaning service.

Our HVAC situation was complicated; we had a Lennox boiler and heat exchanger unit that was constantly breaking down, probably because it was not able to deal with the demands of heat, hot water and the radiant floor heating in our basement. We got quotes from 5-10 different HVAC companies and received a lot of different and confusing advice. The range to replace/repair our system was $5500 to $14000. My husband stumbled on Megacity by fluke and we are both glad he did! Darin at Megacity is a total professional and very good at what he does. He is excellent at explaining HVAC (no small feat!) is extremely thorough, very tidy while working and respectful of your needs. We had been told by other companies that we would have no heat or hot water for 2 days and possibly 3--a difficult situation to accommodate when you're at home with 2 small kids. By painstakingly reworking our system, Darin was able to minimize the inconvenience to us--we had no hot water for about an hour, no heat for a few, and that was it! In addition, the HVAC solution proposed by Darin enabled us to maximize our government energy rebates while making our new system amazingly energy efficient. This was the most expensive project we've done on our home, but it was truly the most painless. The professionalism, courtesy, attention to detail and care taken by Darren and John was absolutely outstanding. They showed up on time and were lovely to deal with. Their price was considerably less than that quoted by other companies for a similar configuration. They reorganied the pipes in our basement to make them safer. I would unhesitatingly recommend this company to anyone who needs a new furnace/hot water heater.

We had a small, somewhat tricky job to fence and gate our yard, demolish the hot tub on our deck and fill in the hole left behind. I found Alec on this site and we couldn't be more pleased with his level of service, professionalism and attention to detail. After several outrageous quotes from other people and some no-shows, we was thrilled that Alec showed up when he said he would, he provided his quote in a timely way, and it was the best price that we received. He was accessible, he answered our many questions, he was totally pleasant to deal with and he did a fantastic job on our project. We hired him on a Tuesday morning, he started two hours later and had the job done by Friday. We are absolutely thrilled with his work! We have already recommended him to two of our friends and would unhesitatingly recommend him to other people.
