Purchased a 12ft patio door. Cheap construction. Very drafty. Cold comes right through. You can hear everything outside. LoE 272 tint is minimal. Installer sent by company President did a lousy job. Calked over expanding foam while still expanding so the calking on exterior is uneven and full of bubbles. To lazy to come back next day and do the job properly. Stay away from this company. Regret purchase terribly and obviously don't recommend. UPDATE: Note that even Ostaco knew my name as directly published on this site and having me in their customer database, they still challenged HomeStars to remove my review. In an effort to defend my review, I submitted the bill of sale direct from Ostaco Factory as proof to HomeStars. Regarding their reply to my review, its simply Customer Service Spin. The company has been in business since 81 however has changed hands / management along the way (see their online posts). The defence of not selling to the public is irrelevant as it does not change the product quality all though not applicable in my case anyway. At 8 months old, the welds around the vinyl weld joints have now all cracked. See photo.

Hello Paul, Ostaco has been in business since 1981. We regard our lasting presence in the industry as a testament to our great products, and excellent customer service. It is disappointing that this has been your experience with our patio doors. If there are indeed drafts we would love to send a tech to your residence to troubleshoot the issue. With regards to the glass, our supplier, Cardinal glass, is the industry leader in quality and technology -- we are proud to have them as a partner(www.cardinalcorp.com). Furthermore, we are a manufacturer of high quality windows, entry doors, and patio doors-- we do not install, nor deal directly with the public. Instead, we sell our products across Canada to selected dealers. Please contact admin@ostaco.com and we will look after you right away. Thank you for the opportunity to make this right.

Finally a contractor that is worth giving my business to ! Words can’t express our gratitude enough to Scott and his team. Leading up the Canada Day Long weekend of 2018 and the first 34c+ MAJOR HEAT waves of the summer, the Air Conditioner failed not soon after being serviced and Ennercare as we moved into our newly renovated purchased house. The HVAC equipment was 15+ years old. There was also existing problems that I suspected regarding airflow to areas to the house extension (built in 1977). After having completed renovations to the house previous to our move-in date, we had been abused by contractors regarding workmanship and billing, suffice to say at this point, finances were obviously a concern with respect to the scope of repairs that we could afford. During the process, we sourced 3 different contractors for quotes including Ennercare and it was obvious that Scott and his company were the right people for the job. (DO NOT recommend Ennercare) Scott took ownership in properly solving the airflow concearns associated to the house extension and hardware capability of our HVAC system. Ultimatley, it came down to a band-aid solution or a proper fix replacing both the Furnace and A/C unit with duct work modification. With Scotts professionalism, patience and understanding of our issues, we were quickly put at ease and confident in his teams ability to get the job done. My wife and I were able to justify the extra costs associated with the FULL equipment replacement as Scott diligently presented us with a few different options and advised accordingly where to put the smart money. When the job was about to start, Scott brought in Maurice, a 30+ year experienced sheet metal worker who instantly pointed out the shortcomings of the previous HVAC design and explained the remedy and how to move forward. This was where the “rubber meets the road” as this type of experience was invaluable. He designed the new ductwork on scrap paper using his experience of older structures, and within 48hrs, I had a full retrofit sitting in my driveway ready for install! Over the Canada Day long weekend the heatwave continued for several days, Maurice sacrificed his long weekend in order to restore cooling for my family after temperatures reached 40c+ inside.(Wife, 1 &4yr old were away for the holiday) Scott pulled every available string to make sure this job was completed in a timely fashion while not to compromise the quality of the finished product. It was amazing what Scott was able source during such a difficult time. Scott leveraged his relationships with other installers and vendors to make make sure he had all necessary parts to complete the job. The end result is we have excellent airflow throughout the whole house with state-of-the-art heating and cooling from a XR17 AC unit and XV95 NG Furnace. Maurice’s HVAC work is actually a work! He showed great talent, artistry and skill during the installation and craftsmanship second to none! Scott also helped us to apply for Energy Rebates upon completion in order to bring down the costs. My wife and I feel that we just didn’t make a purchase from Scott, we also formed a lifetime relationship with confidence that we can always depend on him and his team to come through. It is with-out a doubt that I recomend Scott’s Energy Clean Home Services to all my friends and family for their professional excellence and workmanship. You won’t be disappointed. Next to purchasing a house and vehicle ,this is the largest purchase you will ever make. Thank you Scott and Maurice. The Thompsons

Sean the owner said that he would do this work personally himself to which not one day did he ever turn a tool at my house. Sean sent electricians to our job site and when they gave their business card, there was no license number produced nor could I verify the company which they represented through any type of Google search. The electricians were New Canadians and not everyone spoke english very well. During Sean's initial visit, he kept referring to Electrical Code encouraging us to add more and more and more outlet plugs which we later found out is NOT required during a renovation. Furthermore, Sean kept claiming "by code" every door opening must have an electrical receptacle within 3 feet. ( Code is actually 7 feet) Sean kept telling us that he had an inspection somewhere else to do and could not attend the job site and supervise the people on site. To Seans own admission, when challenged after complaining about poor workmanship , one person was not a electrician. There was always an inspection and inspection and another inspection. It was a great story to try and instill confidence in the customer. Two months had passed and On-Time Electric DID NOT take out a permit. (This was REQUIRED BY LAW and I had insisted on it for insurance purposes from the beginning.) When it came time for inspection, Sean kept stalling telling me that he had inspections booked for my property however to always resulted in an inspector NOT showing up. (I had taken three days off work to accommodate this) In the mean time, Sean kept asking for more money and more money during various times. Getting wise to this I contacted the ESA (Electrical Safety Association) and found out that indeed NO PERMIT was active and NO INSPECTOR would be showing up. Throughout the whole process over 2 weeks of Sean telling me stories of pending inspections at my house, the ESA was aware of the situation as it was unfolding. I am now involved in the complaint process with ESA to have his Accreditation removed. I have an incomplete job and I am now required to find an alternative electrician and pay even more money to have this job completed. We are not able to live in the house at this time and therefore incurring extra costs. When confronting Sean about finishing the job, he was very hostile and threaten to call the Police should I contact him again. I have the whole experience documented and currently working with the ESA on corrective action as well as seeking damages. I would strongly advise NOT USING this contractor. I am suspect of the positive reviews on this site. If you Google this company you will see that it has very poor reviews 3.1/5. Also, by relation the only positive review is by a person sharing the same last name. My experience on Homestars is identical to the last review submitted. My story is very similar to another one on here at Homestars. That particular story had not been published before I hired him. There seems to be an influx of reviews it all happen at the same time that lead me to believe they are bogus. If you search this company on Google they are rated at 3.1 stars with lots of negative He even answered one of his complaints himself posing as someone else however the last name give it away. Stay away from this company. They are very good at looking you in the eye and speaking non-truth. Oct 26th update: Inspector has come in for inspection and the Electrial job failed due to infractions and fire hazards. . I have another highly experienced electrical contractor who has now taken over. His remarks are that "this job was done by inexperienced and amateur people." Some of the basic code regulations aswell as fit and finish is very sloppy. Certainly not worth the money that was paid for this job. ** In the, I paid top dollar for Professional standards with Amateur results. only to have to pay more to fix it **

I had 7 Ash trees that needed to be removed after becoming victim to the Emerald Ash Beetle. Ashley was very knowledgeable and professional. His crews worked efficiently and with consideration to safety and damage to neighbouring property. Very good service and very reasonable. 10+
