Our roof was replaced in June 2001 with 25 year IKO shingles. Just being redone today, 12 years later, by another company. What they've found is very disappointing and shows lack of attention to detail and shoddy workmanship by Desrochers Roofing. On one portion of the roof, the first layer of shingles was improperly laid allowing runoff behind the fascia board and contributing to significant wood rot. We had requested drip edging and were told it was not necessary. This further contributed to deterioration and damage to the plywood underlay. Metal flashing that was to be installed around the chimney was not installed properly and "whirley" vents were installed without a hole being cut for them to vent the attic. They were simply sitting on the roof! How this could have been missed is beyond me. Needless to say we would never recommend this company.
