My mother's refrigerator had some water collecting under the crisper drawers. I found The Appliance Guy on Homestars. I called and was very happy when Joe called back within hours. He was pleasant and courteous and said he would try to come the next day but more likely the following day. And that he would call before he came. He called before he came and diagnosed the problem quickly and efficiently fixed it. His cost was more than reasonable. He was kind to my elderly mother and explained everything to her. I would certainly call him again and gladly recommend him to anyone. Thanks, Joe! Thanks Homestars!

Valentin is a great plumber but also a smart and considerate person. On a Friday night about a week before Christmas 2010, a water pipe burst under the basement floor in my elderly parents house. My mother was in a panic. We had to turn off the water main because hot water was sepping up through the concrete floor. On Saturday morning when I left a phone message for Valentin. He called me back within minutes. He said he was all booked up for next week but that he would see what he could do. He called back soon and said that he and another man could come on Sunday. My parents and I were so relieved. We had confidence in and trusted Valentin. Valentin asked some questions so he understood the problem and to help him figure out what he needed to do. I was impressed with his ability to remember the layout of the basement and all the pipes. On Sunday Valentin looked carefully and planned how he needed to run the pipes in order to reroute and reconnect everything. The original pipes ran under the basement floor and now would run along the ceiling and the walls of the basement. Valentine and his assistant worked very quickly and efficiently and got everything reconnected and running by around 5 pm. They even cleaned up. I was also very impressed to see Valentin take the extra time after working all day on a Sunday, to do a few extra things for us. He checked on our second floor toilet which had been filling too slowly and found a fair size pebble in the hose. He checked the faucet on the sink and found some sand particles which had impeded the water flow. He also connected a hand held shower for my mom. He really is amazing!! Thanks Valentin!!!!

We needed some repair to the eavestrough in the back of our house due to a prior roof repair. But noone was interested in coming to do "a small job" during their busy time. After repeated calls to one company, they came to check but never returned any calls after that. But when I called Crown Aluminum an appointment was set up right away and Eni came to look at the eavestrough and to discuss the cost and when they could come. The appointment was again quick. The only glich was that on the day the crew came they arrived a little late and ran out of time to get the job done properly. But to Crown Aluminum's credit when I told them I was not satisfied with the repair, they all went out of their way to make sure everything was done properly and to our satisfaction. I have not seen a company put so much efforts in making sure their customer was happy! They really did go above and beyond what is expected! Thank you Sabrina, Blair, Eni and their crews!!

I had called a few chimney repair companies last fall. Most did not want to do our small job and if they did they asked for more that Otto quoted us. A competitor of Otto's knew him and spoke highly of him and his work and recommended that we hire Otto for the job because he said he would not take it for that quote. We did not do the work until this fall because of other more urgent repairs that we discovered. And still a year later, Otto was willing to do the work. He and his employees were a pleasure to deal with. They were punctual, capable, professional and friendly. All our questions were answered and they actually came earlier to do the job. I have no reservations in recommending Otto and his company. Thanks guys!

We noticed that it appeared that we had a leak somewhere in the house. After reading the reviews on Homestars, I called Valentin. All the reviews were right. From my first contact with him, I was impressed. He was courteous, professional, knowledgeable, friendly. He listened with patience and thoughtfulness, asked questions to try gain insight into the problem and assess the situation and then said he could come the following day (Good Friday). He called when he was on route and arrived on time. In person he was as wonderful as he was on the phone. He took his time and very thoroughly and carefully checked all the plumbing in the house (he even dug up and checked the old water pipe we had in the garden) to try to detect the leak. He was very patient with all our questions and with his experience and knowledge offered his advice. I would highly recommend Valentin to anyone who is looking for a great plumber. He is knowledgeable, professional, personable, honest, hard working, meticulous, and it's obvious that he takes pride in his work. I wish that there was more people like him. Thanks Valentin!

Last year my 10 year old GAAO Panasonic television lost its picture. I called a TV repair company from the Yellow Pages. They were terrible. They overcharged me, did the work before giving me a quote and getting my okay and then the TV had the same problem a few weeks later. I was so upset and when I called them they wouldn't do anything. Luckily I walked into the right store and got Mr. Tran's name and number. The man who recommended him felt bad when he heard my story and said that Mr. Tran was an honest and good guy. Mr. Tran was great. He charged me half of what the first repair guy charged and he fixed the problem. It's been about a year and my TV is still working. It's nice to know that there are still some honest and good people. A big thank you to Men Van Tran.
