I bought my son window shades from Blinds to Go. On our initial visit, we were impressed with the knowledge of the lady serving us, though everything we wanted seemed to be an extra cost. We were told the installer might be out the same day to measure the windows, guaranteeing the sizes would be correct, and that all the shades would be installed in 3 to 4 days. Two days later we hadn't heard from the installer, and my son called the store. The windows were measured the next day. I then got a call from the store saying that the shades on the sliding door needed to be rolled in the opposite direction to avoid hitting the handle. That would cost an additional $15 per blind for the 3 blinds involved. I finally agreed to get things rolling. Then we didn't hear from them for a few days, and my son had to call again. When the installer came, he said the valances needed to be cut to make them stop closer to the blinds, and that would be an additional $20 per shade. I objected since he had already measured everything, and I felt he should have known this. He finally lowered the price, and I agreed as this had been going on for too long. When he went to install the shades on the windows beside the sliding door, they were the wrong size. He said the factory would re-make them and he would be back in a day or two. A few days later he was back, but the shades were rolled the wrong way, so off he went again. A week later my son called the store again, and was told the installer was busy for the next four days. When they were finally installed and the correct size, it was 20 days later. So much for the 3 to 4 days promised at the beginning. By the time all the additional amounts were added, and we paid for installation, the total had gone from around $1,200 to around $1,500. Not happy with the service, the poor timeliness, or the nickel and diming that follows.
