Last Saturday we woke up to a bubble in the drywall of our dining room ceiling and water dripping at a rate of about 1 drop per second from this spot. I put a bucket under it and poked a hole in the ceiling to let any water out that might have been pooling up there. Then I came to Homestars and started looking for a plumber. The first one I called greeted me only with voicemail and I never got a call back. The next one I called said he didn't work on Saturday. Then I called The Toronto Plumber.CA and they picked up the phone right away and promised me they'd have someone there that day to help me. Huge relief just to get a live human on the phone that seems like they care that you have a problem - you know? So, then I get a call from Yuri and he says he'll be there in an hour. About an hour later he called me and said he'd be another 15 minutes or so because of traffic on the Gardiner. Nice that someone follows up when they're going to be late. Communication is everything, especially when you're helpless like I am when it comes to plumbing. Yuri shows up, we agree to the $180 fee for determining what the problem is. Cool, where do I sign? He had to cut a hole in the ceiling, of course, but not until he checked the rest of the house out to see what else might be going on. Could be a problem with the roof, after all the rain we've had in the last 2 days. So Yuri opens up the ceiling and the problem is the coupling between the plastic PEX hot water supply line and the copper line that goes to the bathroom fixtures. Yuri then gave me a quote to replace the line and said it would be $100 more to fix the cold supply line at the same time, as they both had been installed with the wrong type of coupling. It made sense to me that, while I had a hole in my ceiling, we should do both. Almost a week later, no sign of any trouble up there (I still have a hole in my ceiling, but we can fix that easily enough) and I'm very happy. Yuri was very professional and he worked hard to fix my problem. I was happy with the price and would highly recommend Toronto Plumber.CA.
