Ed and his team of Capitol Pro Painters painted my house just last summer (2024), and I will say from the start that CAPITAL PRO PAINTERS is THE painting company you want to paint your house or big project. My house still has the original lumber installed and in good shape, and I wanted to preserve that instead of replace with new siding. Anyways, Ed was the first to call/visit/estimate the job. he walked around the house, provided relevant details about the job and answered my (many) questions with calm patience and cool professionalism. Ed's original estimate was also surprisingly reasonable...but since he was my first estimate, I wanted to check out a couple more to have a better overall perspective/comparison with a couple other companies. The second company salesmen provided a too high price, and nowhere near the detailed context/feedback I needed to feel comfortable for such a big job/price ($15K)...good salesmanship and a chic company look is not enough for me to sign a contract. My third company contractors for comparison were more down to earth but I felt were a bit brusque/minimal/dismissive in their feedback...with also a too high quote/estimate...(12K+) given the little feedback I received from them. The reason I relate my experience with the other two companies is to emphasize that Ed was like neither of them. Here, I'm dealing with the owner of a company, who provides all the details about the job I needed, who also helped us in finalizing the design and colour palate for the house, and always was fair/reasonable/informative in his estimates. My trust in him allowed me to insist more work be included into the job, and he adjusted the cost very reasonably...and still was well below my first two estimates, who were charging much more for a lot less. His workers were wonderful and respectful...and I was always reassured that Ed was just a quick phone call/visit away when things came up...as they always do. The guys started/finished the job earlier than the planned date...and Ed came to supervise and do the final touch ups himself. Ed...thanks for a TOP NOTCH job, and for being the kind of company owner/contractor that home owners seem to find harder and harder to get these days.
