The gutter resealing repair portion of the work was very overpriced. In comparing prices later for gutter resealing, Gutter Doctor was $90 per repair versus $50 per repair from the two small reputable non-commission HomeStar companies I contacted later. The house is a bungalow with a walkable roof and the work was done in summertime non-urgent conditions. The "on site" communication was poor. The person doing the work showed up without being scheduled and did not let me know when he arrived to do the work. Shortly after starting, I noticed he was doing work and I did go out to talk to him. I expected he would let me know when he completed the work for any questions but he left without letting me know. Sep 21, 2022 It is important for me to take the time to provide a DETAILED REPLY TO THE GUTTER DOCTOR RESPONSE. For customers like me, learning from others on websites like HomeStars and Google is very helpful. 1. For sure, I was given a price and did agree to it. AS A CUSTOMER, IT CAN BE DIFFICULT TO KNOW WHAT TO ASK FOR AND HOW TO COMPARE AT THE TIME. It was only later and after the work was done that I realized Gutter Doctor GUTTER-REPAIR WORK was very overpriced compared to two other smaller reputable non-commission firms I later contacted. The intent of this review is not to get money back but rather to provide feedback for other reviewers. 2. The two smaller reputable HomeStars companies I contacted do have liability insurance, WCB coverage, at least two year warranties and very good reviews. 3. NO, I DID NOT RECEIVE A TEXT from the technician that he was on his way to my house to do the actual work. I received a text earlier in the morning on Aug 26, 2022 at 11:15 am from the technician (refer to the TEXT PHOTO) the same day the actual work was done Hey, I can come in the next couple of days for the work. Depending on how much rain we get tomorrow. Thanks. As you can read, there was no actual time scheduled for the work on this text. On the morning of this text, my phone was not available and I did not check my texts until later in the day and by then the work had already been completed. Perhaps, Gutter Doctor is CONFUSING THE SCHEDULING OF THE SITE VISIT FOR THE ESTIMATE on Aug 21, 2022 (five days before the actual work was done). 4. My wife, who was also at home, and I heard NO RINGING OF THE DOORBELL by the technician when he was done. I was in my office in the front of the house and happened to see the technician going around the front of the attached garage after leaving from the back yard. I expected he would ring the doorbell and let me know when the work was done. After a few minutes and not hearing anything I went to the front of the garage to talk to him and he had left by that time. I have since checked both house doorbells, front and back, and they work fine. As well, the doorbells have operated properly in the past. 5. I RECEIVED TWO EMAILS FROM A GUTTER DOCTOR CONTACT ASKING FOR FEEDBACK on Gutter Doctor work shortly after the work was done. On Aug 29, three days after the work was done, I SENT TWO EMAILS TO GUTTER DOCTOR with questions regarding the poor on site communication. (The first email was sent at 5:31 pm and a second at 5:37 pm with a few minor clarifications on the first email). I DID NOT RECEIVE A REPLY FROM GUTTER DOCTOR. I then sent another email to Gutter Doctor two days later on Aug 31, 2022 at 6:35 pm asking if anyone was planning to reply to my previous email. AGAIN, THERE WAS NO REPLY. A few days later, I then did reviews on HomeStars and Google. (My phone texts and emails, regarding Gutter Doctor, are available to HomeStars and Google for verification).

You were given a price that you agreed to. You had every right to shop around if you thought it was too expensive. We do professional work. When we re-caulk a corner we do it properly by removing the old sealant, cleaning/drying/wirebrushing the area, then applying the best quality gutter caulking. You have a 2 year warranty on the corner meaning if it leaks again within 2 years we come and fix it again for free. Is this what these cheaper companies offer? Do they have liability insurance and WCB coverage to protect the customer? The technician texted you on his way to your house which you had responded to. When he was done he rang the doorbell but nobody came to the door.
