Taking the time to read reviews on Homestars has really paid off for me as I have found some really great contractors. Another one I can now add to my list of stellar contractors is Lou'ay and his team from Burl-Oak. I found them by a total fluke as it was the one and only time I have ever taken a moment to flip through flyers that land in my mailbox. I noticed their ad in a local advertising leaflet and decided to look them up on Homestars. These guys had endless great reviews so I decided to get them out for a quote. Upon meeting Lou'ay I was really impressed with his professionalism. After I agreed to his very fair quote (which was properly laid out, detailed and signed by him) we proceeded to the contract with all the terms laid out that were not only for his protection but mine. Now on to his work. WOW! I have to say I am a gal who is very hard to please but I was awe struck with how fantastic our driveway (Courtstone by Unilock-which has a cobble stone look) looked when he finished and the attention to detail paid to re-sodding our lawn (which I must say looks as perfect as a golf course!!) that was previously a heap of weeds. I was also so impressed with how Lou'ay and his team buckled down and tackled a very unexpected 4 foot deep curb that needed to get removed. Though this unexpected obstacle was a surprise for everyone, Lou'ay and his team soldiered on to painfully remove it and never turned around and made me feel bad about it nor did he slap on any extra fees. He totally stayed true to his quote. As an added extra he also surprised me by resetting my existing flag stone walk path that he said he would do at no extra charge. As for the flagstone path, I thought it looked fine the way it was originally but was shocked at the difference it made by him resetting it properly. It truly looks beautiful and like a new path altogether. He also installed my outdoor lamp post at no extra charge. One added note I would like to say about Lou'ay in particular is that he was not only really professional but truly a gentleman and very patient with my never ending worries. I can drive anyone a bit nuts with my micromanaging but he really took it in stride and took all my concerns and suggestion seriously. This was truly appreciated. I would seriously recommend Lou'ay and his team anyone who wants professional and hard working contractors who take pride in their work.

I called A & A after receiving 3 other quotes to have some various tuck pointing done, parging and closing up of an old window with bricks. Brad showed up that same day as he had planned to be in the neighbourhood anyway. He was so great at listening to all my concerns and making recommendations. He was also so knowledgable on all matters and at no point did he try to oversell me on anything.In fact, I was concerned that I had a serious issue in my basement that may need to be addressed and after viewing the wall he assured me that it was actually fine and that no masonry work on it was necessary. I really appreciated his honesty about this and the advice on all matters which is what convinced me to go with this company. The mason that was assigned to my project was Dwight and i can't say enough great things about him. He really did do a stellar job. He arrived at 7:30 sharp and was very courteous and professional. Brad arrived that same morning to do the walk around with Dwight to ensure that all the issues I wanted dealt with were conveyed to him so nothing would get missed. Dwight's work was truly impressive and it was clear to me that he really wanted to ensure the job was done right and to a high standard. He did an incredible with matching the mortar for the tuck pointing as well as the new bricks that were needed to close in the old window. He worked such a long day and came back again the next day at 7:30am again to finish up some final details and cleaned up everything when he left. When ever I need to use A & A again, I will be strictly requesting Dwight for the job. He was so courteous and his work ethic as well as quality of work was really outstanding.

These guys really impressed me right from the get go. Aaron made the time to come and provide an estimate the following day after my call. He was on punctual and took the time to go over my options. His quote was very fair and ensured the job would be done within days as he knew I was eager to deal with it promptly. When the crew arrived later that week they were again punctual and professional. I was amazed by how quickly they worked and was impressed with the skill of the gentleman who was actually up in the tree cutting it down ensuring that no branches went through the neighbour's windows. They also did a fantastic job with the clean up and and didn't leave a trace of any mess behind. I would totally recommend these guys to anyone who wants quick and professional service.
